Good night everyone. Great fight. And don't forget that Filip said before the fight that his toolkit also included a Bible. He also stated that the strength he had yet to find wasn't his own. Faith works miracles.

The guy did what he had to do. In a fight where almost everyone had written him off, he won against someone who was already being put on a pedestal.

A very valuable victory.

 

Frank has no right to be mad, acting surprised and covering the camera like he wasn't the guy who built this kid up look like he is the best thing since sliced bread, giving him 13 cans 1 journeyman and then sending him to a championship fight where he hasn't seen past round 6 till then. Don't know how they didn't prepare him for 12 rounds or where realy should the blame go for that matter. Hope Moses is ok and recovers quickly.

Itauma did a very good impression of Jim Peters at the end.

 

Yeah this whole notion about only hrgovic could of done that is bollocks, like you pointed out usyk for example would of made him miss more, others like say a kabyel would of had him on back foot more and tagging moses more.

Hrgovic has an amazing chin no ****ing doubt but he’s not hard to hit and he’s not a big puncher. Others could of done something but in a variety of different ways.

Many are blaming Moses loss to his inexperience and well, stupidity. That if he paced himself, he'd likely get a pts W.
What did Filip often say in the build up? He has the experience and can take a punch, Can Moses take many heavy shots?

How many of us have actually boxed - and at that level? Who here knows how Moses FELT in uncharted waters against an iron jawed opponent?

Give Hrgović his due!
Glad to see so many Itauma frontrunners making lame exuses. I do think Itauma has a big future and likely wins a HW belt. Not so sure he can unify.

After watching this bout I think Itauma has all the good physically (not sure about mentally...) but I must admit, as someone who picked Hrgovic ages ago, that this was immensely satisfying to watch. Over here in the UK the hype has been absolutely ridiculous. In fact, in terms of hype: achievement ratio I think he is possibly the worst hype (and fall) I've seen. The Warren interview saying he'll be a worldwide cultural phenom and better than Tyson being one of many examples. Not to mention commentator brown nosing. Much worse than AJ's imo despite the fact AJ gets ragged on far more for it.

Also loving the new sneaky left hand body shots Hrgovic has been implementing lately.

 

I don't know that everyone necessarily wanted him to lose - but most expected him to... Because he's essentially a gatekeeper with a great chin, and we've been told for a couple of years now that Itauma was a dominant champion in the making - it was understandable that it was seen as inevitable by many.

It's still entirely possible that Itauma learns from this as Dubois did from Joyce...

But the kid doesn't have a great chin - Hrgovic wouldn't have been able to stop him if he did.

Itauma can still be successful as a glass cannon up to a point, but he's not looking like he has the attributes to make a dominant champion.
