Oh my bad, Bronze, still an Olympic medal and worthy achievement. Please share your knowledge thy master... Hrgovic is bang average based on what metric?? And why are you so upset and salty about a topic you are so well versed in (allegedly)
Nah you DKSAB about boxing and should go back to watching power slap if you think Moses needs "major work" to his defence. Did you start watching boxing last year? Looks like that was your join date ... wondering if there is a correlation there.
All honestly though how is davidson even getting a gig... Itauma should have kept that 0 until late into his career he is that good lol
Been watching boxing longer than you've been alive. Your hypejob just got brutally exposed and now you're trying to save face. It's understandable. But you should probably log off now before you embarrass yourself further. More personal attacks because you have no argument isn't going to work out for you.
Even prime Tyson paced himself and after the first few rounds fought methodically and slowed down quite a lot after 6 rounds. The difference is he knew how to pace himself at a young age because he had so many fights. I would not call Hrgovic bang average. He is plodding but has good skills and power,, lots of experience and tough as nails. He is one of the best HW's today and would likely beat AJ and Fury of today.
Because this fight is longer, I'm able to analyze Itamua's style a lot better now. In the early rounds, he reminds me of Uysk a lot. A quick southpaw with a lot of good feints and good handspeed, but with more power. Even the way he moves reminds me of Usyk, but one slight difference. He doesn't keep his hands up as much as Usyk. His reaction speed is really good, so he was using a head movement and distance control to avoid shots. But as the fight goes along, he had a harder time avoiding shots. I remember the 5th round where Hrgovic landed a flush shot, then another and another in the last 30 seconds. Then I starting wondering if he can keep continuing to take those kind of shots while Hrgovic can eat his. So to say that Hrgovic did nothing is a lie. He did landed flush shots and they did bother Itauma. And you definitely can't say that Hrgovic got lucky because this is the way many of us thought he could win and he did win this way. Itauma has 2 things to work on... stamina and keeping his hands up. I don't know how hard he trains at camp, but gassing so early is a huge weakness. He was breathing hard in his corner after the first round. By the 3rd round, his output slowed. By the 6th round, his handspeed dropped noticeably. He needs to work on his stamina a lot, but there is also a good chance that he can't fix it. We talked about Zhang having stamina issues and can't sustain it for more than 6 rounds, but what if Itauma is similar? His future opponents are itching to find out. If his stamina can't serve him in the championship rounds, he need to pace himself and keep his hands up like Usyk. If you run out of gas and you don't keep your hands up, it's game over.
I don't have to save anything, he isn't my hypejob. I'm not even a fan. You need to save your salty tears, and find a new sport to follow. Boxing is not for you. Moses looked fantastic and dominated a top, highly experienced heavyweight at the tender age of 21. Hrgovic, a boxer with more credentials and knowledge than you gave Moses massive props and said "I got lucky tonight". Power slap is definitely up your street, that would suit your style of analysis and thinking.
And that's really quite generous. He was doing well, but gassed badly way earlier than he should - agreed. But he failed the chin test - Hrgovic doesn't have the power to stop guys with decent chins. Power good, but we already knew that. Speed good, but we already knew that, too. Ring IQ? Decent in some sense, terrible in an important one (pacing), and had no plan B without a stoppage. The big questions going in were whether he had the stamina or the chin to be top drawer - in both cases, the answer is clearly "no". Stamina can be improved, pacing can be improved... And should be. He'll probably still be successful, but he won't be an unbeatable dominant champ like he was being made out.
Actually Hrgovic said Moses doesnt hit that hard, but he is very fast. He did say that Adeleye hits hard.
How did he fail the chin test? He wasn't knocked down and he took plenty of flush bombs from Hrgovic. He just seemed generally exhausted more than anything else.
He is not a hands up style of fighter and that won't change imo. He is built around head movement and reflexes , sort of like Roy Jones, and that is something very hard to change because you learn that stuff when you start boxing not as a pro. I don't think his defense was an issue, he rarely got tagged clean, maybe once or twice but that is boxing. Main issue was the stamina and when that goes so does defense.
Literally? Maybe he caught a glimpse of the doctor in the background. In that case, can't blame him. I would've bladed my own eyebrow just to get her to come look at me.
