Hrgovic beating Itauma proves the next era will be weaker

Itauma was the most talented young prospect and Dubois is far inferior to Usyk and Fury yet he beat Hrgovic and Is 2x champ. This next era will be pretty weak after Dubois and Kabayel retires, there will be no one special

 

isn't hrgovic special???
he's been screwed around by promoters on his way up,he;s been calling out names since early on in his career..
when he signed up for queensberry, one of the conditions was that he fights itauma, with queensberry's intentions that he be brought in as an opponent and punching bag for the annointed one..
going to itauma's turf where he was the B side and knowing that it was a hostile environment..
look at frank warrens reaction during the fight..
that was all done with single mindedness and determination, and still, after the fight he's not getting enough credit..
to do what he did, hats off to him!!!
and still, during the build up and after the fight, he didn't whine, moan or *****..
to walk into the lions den and a hostile environment, only someone who has been in that situation can explain what it's like, as well as having about 98% of boxing people saying you're going to get splattered and knocked out..
hrgovic isn't a flash in the pan or a one hit wonder..
he's had a lot going against him during his career and leading up to the itauma fight..
what he did was very special..
if it wasn't, the boxing world would'nt have gone into meltdown

 

Moses Itauma is still only 21, has only 15 fights and never went past 6 (well, not anymore). He's got plenty more development to undergo.

 

Itauma is only 21. Young for any era, but especially today.

 

Hrgovic might lose his next fight against a contemporary contender, which will make Itauma and the upcoming era look pathetic

 

Itauma is only 21 though. You think 21 year old fury would have beaten current hrgovic? 21 year old usyk wouldn't even have been able to do 12 rounds since he would stay in the amateurs for years to come.

I think we still haven't seen most of 'itauma's generation'. They're too young still. We're not in ali times anymore.

Also since usyk has proven to be head and shoulders above everyone, he doesn't really count for a comparison between generations. If the top guy is superman, but the rest is beatable, it doesn't necessarily make for a stronger generation than the next one.

Also I am quite happy with what fighters are currently available. They only need to fight each other and we get a few great fights!

Hrgovic seems intent to make those fights and let warren pay step aside fee to sanchez. Good on him!

21 year old Usyk finds a way, thats what separates the all time greats from the hypejobs. Usyks mentality was always there

 

Usyk wasn't even a pro at 21.... as a matter of fact, at 21 in 2008,he lost to Clemente Russo.

the next era will be fine.. if were in say the year 2031-2032 and it still looks bleak then sure.. but its just starting lol.

 

Itauma lost a fight, not a big deal. People read so much into losses. If people get written off for losing, we will just see more ducking going forwards

 

hrgovic won't lose his next fight!!!

 

There will be other young heavyweights who haven't had the opportunity to shine that could make the division exciting again. Maybe this Jalalov will be something special.
