Yes, it does. He’s a champion.

    Antoher crazy and insane take.

Hrgovic’s only loss was in a fight he was winning that was stopped on cuts.

Well I guess technically, if you stop someone in the 12th round, you haven't gone 12 full rounds, haha.

Totally agreed, and I've thought this for months. Way too big a step up. He should've took on the likes of Vianello, Jalolov, Miller. But, I figured, like a lot of people, that Frank Warren must know something we don't and see a weakness in Hrgovic that Itauma can exploit, because surely he wouldn't risk him for the sake of it? I guess the hype, temptation, and money, was too much.

If he really wanted a title shot he should've took on Gassiev when he had the chance.

Yah, Hrgovic is clearly a top fighter and has established himself as such over years at this point. I agree with this, but I also agree with Bubbles that the hype is a bit excessive following beating the relatively unproven Itauma. To me, Hrgovics level is just the same as it's been, and this doesn't really elevate it..

Moses was an 8 to 1 favorite, it definitely elevates Hrgovic.

The thing is he proved to be levels above Hrgovic in terms of ability he just ran out of gas. It's not like he stepped up and got outclassed or beat up. He should have won the fight cruising.

Hrgovic isn't being ''hyped'' quite the contrary he's not being given any credit at all by most

Saying he's world class isn't hype

Saying he would beat a manufactured Dosser isn't hype he's simply the better fighter

Saying he's 50-50 or at worst 40-60 vs the other champs isn't hype

They had to go up and down the IBF rankings x 2 to find someone willing to face him despite the reward being a guaranteed title shot ie. the golden ticket

If everything was on the level he would hold a win over the current WBO champ Dubois and would've already become Croatia's first world champion 2 years ago. Dubois is ranked #2 at HW and Hrgovic lost that fight due to corruption

Hrgovic is an Olympic bronze medalist and he was clearly robbed in the semi-final in a fight that he won at absolute worst 2-1. He should be a gold or silver medalist and a unified or 2 x HW champ sans corruption with a win over the current #2 ranked HW in the world. I guess Dubois isn't world level, right?

    European gold medalist

    World Youth gold medalist

He's always been legit he was just denied the opportunities others were or less decorated than he is were afforded

It took Hrgovic 9 years to receive a world title shot

    3.5 for Moses

5 for Dubois (WBA regular) and 6 for the WBA/IBF/WBO

Despite Hrgovic being way more decorated than both of them and an Olympic medalist

Dubois has been given 4 world title shots (WBA reg included) in a 9 year career and elevated to full champ after butting the crap out of Hrgovic's visage.

Hrgovic would've been DQ'd had the roles been reversed or bare minimum had multiple points deducted and the fight would've been stopped on cuts and gone to the cards with Dubois being declared the winner and everyone knows it

99% gave him no chance vs Moses and now they give him no credit for proving them wrong winning fair and square as a huge underdog on a deck heavily stacked against him in what was the worst stylistic match up for him to look good against vs an extremely talented future superstar according to most.

You're right, It doesn't make him a contender. It makes him a titlist. And he's not a titlist like Gassiev or Charles Martin either. He has the resume to back it up with wins over Zhang, Joyce, Adeleye and now Itauma.

    100% spot on!!!
    OH, FRANK WARREN!!!!
    WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!!
    FRANK WARREN!!!!!
    I LOVE YOU!!!!!
i would've loved to have been a fly on the wall in the hrgovic camp after it was announced that frank warren paid frank sanchez step aside money, thereby making this an IBF title fight..
frank signed hrgovic to queensberry on the condition that he fights moses (12 rds..the nickname i'm giving him now...) itauma..
frank's way of thinking would've been that hrgovic, slow, ponderous and plodding would've given itauma a few rounds, but itauma annihillating him..
a lot of boxing people, itauma fans included were making comparisons about the outcome of the demsey mckean fights, which was totally ridiculous..
since turning pro, hrgovic has really had his back against the wall..
the hrgovic/dubois fight, how it was for the IBF interim title, had hrgovic won, would he have been regarded as such??
    i doubt it
would a hrgovic/joshua fight have been made?
    i doubt it..
this is why i thank frank warren for signing hrgovic..
    for making the hrgovic/itauma fight
and especially for paying sanchez step aside money..
hrgovic has been overlooked, avoided, dismissed and disrespected big time since turning pro..
now that the fight is over, and the boxing world has gone into meltdown, asking where did it all go wrong..
it all went wrong when frank warren made the fight, then making it into an IBF title fight
    FRANK WARREN!!!!!
    I LOVE YOU!!!!!

The oddsmakers were flat wrong, and boxing fans knew this.

I personally saw this as a toss up, leaning towards Hrgovic ahead of the fight.. and that it would tell us what Moses’ level was.. I think more people saw it as an even match up than Moses being a heavy favorite…

Saying Hrg isn’t world class is flat out stupid. He’s maintained a spot in the top 10 for several years.

    There's no questioning he's a titlist...

But no, he's still in the Stiverne/Martin camp until he proves otherwise.

Beating Zhang who's terrible on cards, Joyce who was shot to bits, Adeleye who's a journeyman and Itauma who's not beaten a gatekeeper or contender that wasn't utterly shot? That's not a legit champions resume.

Not a legit championshio resume, I agree. Newly crowned titlists hardly are.

But that's still more than what Gassiev, Martin, Stiverne, Joshua, Parker, Wilder had done when they first became a titlist regardless of what they had gone on to do later on.

Hrgovic's is record is just fine for a brand new titlist in a 4 belts era and he's easily a top5 HW.
