Moses doesn't deserve a rematch and I hope Hrgovic never gives him one after the disrespect he has been shown ever since he upset the odds and proved everyone wrong after being brought into play the role of the sacrificial lamb. The Hrgovic disrespect going into the fight was egregious enough as it was but it's gone into overdrive ever since he won the fight fair and square as has the predictable narrative driven campaign from the media, social media, and British fight fraternity just like we saw after Usyk beat AJ, Belly, and Dubois. The narrative in thosee instance was more about what those guys did wrong than what Usyk who, like Hrgovic, is the one who had the deck stacked against him, did right. He whoops AJ and it's all about how AJ got the tactics wrong and his trainer is made the scapegoat. Usyk whoops the ''new'' ''old'' ''more aggressive'' AJ in the rematch with the top US trainer in tow for AJ and he got the tactics wrong again Let's not forget that they were in the process of lining up a third roll of the dice for ''new' ''old'' Davison trained AJ until Dubois upset their plans. In what alternate reality, dimension or universe would Usyk have been given 3 attempts at trying to beat AJ after having lost the first 2 neither of which were close or shouldn't have been? And even worse many bought into that hype and were picking AJ to knock Usyk out this time. Just keep rolling the dice until you achieve the desired result but if you win it's well done, job done, onto the next, onto the scrap heap for you opponent And let's not also forget that one judge only had Usyk winning the first fight by a single round and one actually had AJ winning the rematch when neither fight was even close We saw the same after Belly I and Dubois I too They wouldn't shut up about the ''low blow'' over here even during the build up to the rematch and then after Usyk moseyed on into the much bigger, much younger and more powerful savage punching Dubois' backyard to put and end to all of that controversy and score a HL reel KO of the year iconic KO at 38 y/o the narrative immediately switched to ''partygate'' Where was all the talk about Hrgovic ''gassing'' after dominating early against Dubois? Where was all the talk from the British media and fight fraternity about Dubois cheating like crazy in that fight billy goat butting the crap out of Hrgovic's visage to dozen times? That ever so conveniently got completely ignored. The fight should've gone to the cards which were level at the time and Hrgovic should've been declared the winner because the ref at a bare minimum should've deducted points from Dubois for butting the living crap out of Hrgovic's visage. You think Hrgovic would be getting a rematch if the roles were reversed? He wouldn't get within sniffing distance of one had he lost Moses would be moving onto unification fights after having to accommodate his mandatory Sanchez if they didn't pay him to step aside again You think Usyk would've been given a rematches if AJ, Belly or Dubois had even squeaked by him in their firsts fight against him? Had AJ or Belly beat Usyk first time round it would've been job well done, score is settled, onto the next and they get to progress with their careers and move onto the final not have to replay their semi-finals in order to achieve the desired result and that's exactly what would've happened with Moses had Hrgovic turned up to play the role he was supposed to play I like Moses, rate him highly, and he is not to blame for any of this and will come again and I still believe he will bare minimum become a world champion and likely go onto achieve great things. The British media and social media platform propaganda machine, however, makes me puke. Hrgovic, who 99% of those refusing to give him a single ounce of credit now gave him no chance going in, deserves the opportunity to carve out his own legacy with unification fights and the financial rewards that come with that at 34 y/o and career spent having to do it the hard way not play the role of a pawn in a game of someone else's grand plans Moses is faster than him, Hrgovic much tougher. Toughness is just as important as speed and boxing is a marathon not a sprint and Hrgovic won the race fair and square.
If they go for the immediate rematch, Hrgovic probably wins again. If Moses gets a couple of good 10/12 round wins and fights him again in 12/18 months, he wins on points. Hrgovic has the pulling power now, and good for him; he's taken the long road. I'd love to see him take his belt home, defend it, and then unify against Dubois. While I am happy for Filip, it is disappointing for a fighter so defensively poor to have his hands on a legitimate heavyweight belt.
Itauma is crazy talented, but I think the major advantage he has is speed. As he gets older and starts to lose speed, it becomes more competitive right out the gate.
Exact same way, but maybe a round or two longer if Moses trains harder, or a round or two less if Filip pressures earlier.

Moses wins an immediate rematch with some basic changes and a training camp with more stamina focused training. Moses was in full control of the fight for the early rounds. Hrgovic was missing wildly, looked gunshy, nervous, overwhelmed. He had no answer except to hope that he could survive and hope that Itauma slows down. I was terrified at the beatdown Moses was handing to Hrgovic. It was truly dominant. The Hrgovic Dubois fight was a lot more competitive. This fight was one sided while Itauma was still on his feet. Hrgovic could barely land an accurate shot even when Moses was exhausted. Very happy for Hergovic though, I was rooting for him the whole fight while also wincing at the violent punishment he was receiving.
If it’s a 8 round fight Moses handily wins. Anything longer than Hrgović outlasts him. Don’t think it’s going to be the last time we see somebody outlast Moses. That kind of drop off isn’t something that’s going to dramatically change anytime soon. They better match make some glass jaws in the next few. Is the power even what it’s made out to be, I saw Adeleye and Dubois have Hrgović in way more trouble but they certainly didn’t look as fancy early on. Would not be suprised if this result happens to him again in the next year or two. Better believe any durable opponents booked over 12 rounds I’ll be lumping on them until he shows me he can sustain himself over the course of a fight.
People are overexaggerating here. The only thing Hrgovic has over Itauma is stamina. Itauma was lighting him up for the vast majority of the fight. Itauma showed far better skill and speed. I would favour him in a rematch, all he needs to do is pace himself. It would probably look like the Joshua Ruiz rematch. It was simply bad strategies that made Joshua and Itauma lose.
I don't think Brick Top will let Itauma anywhere near an immediate rematch with Hrgo. They will go back to the drawing board IMO. If i'm wrong on this, then I'd expect Hrgo to put things on him much earlier, targetting the body as much as possible. Doubt it ends much different without Moses having bankced rounds and figuring out how to navigate a 12 round fight.
