So, could Hrgovic win the Rumble if we swap him in for Ali?

It's cute how you singled out a punch that was thrown when Itauma was finished and Hrgovic no longer cared about what was thrown at him.

I'm sure you'd end up finding an excuse for Foreman if he ended up gassing out.

As I've said before there's alot of flavour of the month mentality atm. Where people are basically implying Hrgovic is the terminator i think people have short memories honestly.

Hrgovic turned away vs Zhang multiple times looking dazed and bewildered.

Zhang was also 40 years old and with all this talk of Foreman's stamina. Zhang has even worse stamina and he went 12 rounds with Hrgovic.

Dubois did headbutt Hrgovic a few times yes but he was also getting on top of Hrgovic and beating him up just prior to the stoppage.

Dubois hasn't got Foreman's durability or heart.

Adeleye who's a British level fighter almost had Hrgovic out of there landing 20 unanswered punches.

Hrgovic is durable yes but he's not unstoppable and has looked hurt and dazed in multiple fights.

I think people need to remind themselves that Hrgovic beat a 14 fight novice who'd not even beaten a top 20 ranked Heavyweight.

Novice is not the right word.

It is Hrgovic was atleast a significant level above anything Itauma had faced.

In terms of professional experience Itauma was a novice.

He'd never gone past 6 rounds.

He'd not had a single test in terms of any opponent offering any resilience what so ever.

His best win was a fringe contender in Franklin who's barely top 20 Heavyweight if that.

Not to mention Franklin turned up in no shape what so ever.

There'd be no shortage of them. Looking at the Foreman-Young threads, it's hilarious. I wouldn't think such a mythical monster would need every break falling his way to win.

I don't even favor Hrgovic here and don't particularly care for him as a fighter, but him upsetting George wouldn't come close to cracking a biggest upsets list for me, let alone be impossible to consider

McKean obviously was a solid choice of opponent. He happened to get stopped in 1 instead of making it to 12 like he did with Hrgovic in his previous fight. Franklin was also brought in to go rounds, but he got stopped. Itauma was inexperienced over 12 because he kept stopping everyone, but he wasn’t a novice. He had much better experience (including am) than someone like Charles Martin when Martin won a title.

Excuses being made for Foreman’s losses and Mayweather’s wins are more dependable than the sun rising.

And most of the guys typing it out truly believe their words.

Itauma was noticeably tired vs Franklin which I commented on in the Itauma vs Young thread where you can see my comment.

My concerns over Itauma's stamina were already there even before the Hrgovic fight.

itauma needed an actual test before jumping up another level to the world stage.

    Riakporhe for the British title.

Or guys like Bakole or Miller who would pressure Itauma and give him a proper test.

He needed better conditioning more than better opposition. It’s pretty obvious that something was very wrong with his training if he hadn’t even bothered sparring for 12+.

Bakole and Miller would be two guys to avoid. They’re both dangerous against anyone with stamina issues. Hrgovic for a title made much more sense. He happened to have a trainer who instructed him to finish off Hrgovic in round eight instead of coasting in a totally winnable fight.

Not just you, Jar. I thought he looked awful, getting totally Itaumaoutboxed by a tired 21 year old with so little experience. Also he looked soft in the middle despite being 6'6" and 235lbs. So this supertough superman is up for debate too imo.

Most Foreman victims were totally untested against guys with the attributes that made Foreman so dangerous. When they did fight someone with those attributes they generally didn't do well.

Cooney was probably the closest thing to Foreman in that era followed by Shavers or Coetzee

If Ali did the Hrgovic Homer Simpson job he’d have been killed like Hrgovic would
