Hrgovic is better than Itauma and deserved to win. Give him his credit

The hate and jealousy for Hrgovic is strong.

 

It reminds me very much of when Vitali lost to Lennox Lewis.

Vitali's fans always moan about how he was up on the cards and heading for certain victory without factoring in that his ****ing face had been totally rearranged by punches and he was only 4-2 up in rounds (a swing round makes it dead even) and gassed when the fight was literally only half started.

Moses looked great until fatigue and Hyrgovic's glacial like inevitably drowned him 2/3's of the way through. If the towel wasn't thrown in Hrgovic's detractors would have seen the KO punch they criticise him for not landing.

the loss to douglas was obviously big, but the writing was on the wall...
it would've been even bigger news on a global scale back in the day if it wasn't for the fact of nelson mandela being released from prison about 12 hours later..
when it comes to tyson, nobody hit the nail on the head predicting his downfall the way larry holmes did before they fought..
larry said that tyson is going to have a brief prime because of his fighting style and lifestyle,and would end up in prison..
how prophetic those words were..

Yes he gets credit for beating Itauma but beating Itauma is not that much to grab about. Also, he lost every single round before the KO.

 

Irrelevant if he did. Which is debatable. In the end he slaughtered him. That's all that matters.

 

Some fans of Vitali see he lost legitimately on bad cuts.
But Lewis looked even more gassed-I dunno he could have come back without the melting face.
Even if not replicable, a very god victory.

 

Itauma got dismantled in the bout as Hrgovic and Sanchez executed their wear down strategy to perfection.

If you think Hrgovic lucked out or things were a fluke then you probably also believe Ali was just fortunate against Foreman.

Itauma was humiliated. He looked like a guy who didn't train properly and who had no clue about how he was being methodically set up. Being stretchered out of the ring was the final ignominy.

Itauma will never be looked at the same way again. Taking the fight was a huge mistake.

Much of the late damage done by Hrgovic came from body shots that just demolished Itauma. He had the will to continue smashed out of him.

The damage control that's being done for Itauma now is because people actually believed he was the next Great Western Hope. He was going to be the new Tyson (lol). And there are still some marks who believe that and so the attempt to reconstruct Humpty Dumpty's shattered aura after his fall.

It doesn't matter what anyone says now. Itauma got ran over in the ring and the name of the truck that hit him was Hrgovic. No revisionism attempts will ever alter what happened.

 

I give more credit to Abel Sanchez than Hrg honestly.

I totally get dragging your inexperienced opponent into deep waters where he isn’t used to it but like for 7 rounds he basically let Moses style on him.

Realistically i understand he didn’t respect Moses’s power but he showed very poor defensive responsibility and incredibly low output.

I’ll rewatch the fight for a 4th time to be sure but im more disappointed in Moses than I am impressed by Hrgovic.

 

That’s simply just not true.

There has been a narrative that Hrgovic was doing much better than he was because he won. In reality he was down every single round and one was a 10-8.

It’s Hrgovic fans/moses haters that are being revisionist.

This isn’t me trying to be combative because I really like your posts and your insight but this wording really makes it seem like Hrgovic knocked him out cold when Moses didn’t even go down from a punch he just fell over.

If you have DAZN you can rewatch the fight and see it.

Even Hrgovic’s coach said as much.

 

This is totally false. Again, Ali looked like he was getting pummeled by Foreman until he wore out and Ali took him down. Same strategy.

Sanchez has talked about the plan. If you don't understand it, that's on you.

Hrgovic destroyed Itauma. Destroyed him. Exactly according to plan.

At least Foreman had the dignity to leave the ring under his own power.

Itauma got shattered. Splattered.

What an embarrassment.

 

Sanchez after the fight:

"It was fun watching play out what we had anticipated in the gym, in training camp, what we had planned. What was not fun was watching how good Moses Itauma hand speed was and how accurate he was with his shots early, that we couldn't get off on him. But it was fun watching it because I knew my guy was going to eventually make him succumb to the pressure and presence of him being there."

This was always the plan and it worked to perfection.
