Obviously Usyk ranks the highest P4P due to his accomplishments at Cruiserweight & Heavyweight.

But Wladimir dominated the Heavyweight division for a decade and has too much longevity and world title wins at the weight.

So Wladimir clearly rates higher than Usyk strictly at Heavyweight IMO.

Pfp...heavyweight...whatever you want to say. Usyk has better wins and no losses to Ross Purity.

 

He also only has 7 title fights compared to 21 (or 28 if you count the WBO reign), 5 Top 10 fighters beaten compared to 16 and 6 title defences compared to 18 (or 23 if you count WBO).

 

25 if you count his WBO reign IIRC. Could be wrong though.

 

He had 5 defences of the WBO title between 2000 and 2003.

 

I meant to say 25 wins in title fights if you count WBO reign you put 28 originally but not biggie.

Usyk has a quality, but Wlad trumps him with quality/quantity. Not to mention, Usyk only beat 3 guys if you look at it. Wlad has more of a variety.

 

Yeah but Usyk only has 3 names on your list.

Wladimir has Byrd, Haye, Povetkin, Sultan, Chagaev, Peter.

That's 4 fighters Wladimir beat who held belts.

Usyk has the best single wins but I like the more varied names and longevity on Wladimir's overall resume.

Also the amount of undefeated fighters Wladimir beat is an impressive stat that is overlooked.

 

Quality is more important. The Quantity thing started with Larry Holmes. In the eighties, he got hihgly mixed reviews as a champion. When they wanted to redefine him in the 90s, they started talking about 20 defenses. He did better than Wlad in terms of quality, but not by much. Wlad is basically Holmes mark II.

Usyk aggressively pursued the guys who would make him great. Good boy. Way to go, champ.

"3 guys" isn't a thing. Both Liston's fights against Patterson count. Both Ali's fights against Frazier count. Both Zale's wins against Graziano count. etc.

Fury was the second best of the era. Joshua the third. Dubois the fourth. He proved beyond the shadow of a doubt he was better than each. He is #1 of the post-Klitschko years with a bullet.
