In so many Ali threads, including this one, people talk about what Henry Cooper did as if that is some portent of what better fighters than Cooper would do to Ali. It gets used as the reason Ali would either have a lot of problems with certain fighters or actually lose to them. The problem with that thinking is we've seen the history and apparently what Cooper achieved did not mean victory for Liston, Foreman and almost everyone else. Boxers didn't and wouldn't beat Ali just because of what Cooper did. It needs to stop being used as some kind of useful tool when thinking about fantasy Ali fights.
Lol yes we will agree to disagree, especially as you originally listed some hard punchers and yet left Henry out but now all of a sudden he is a hard puncher and you just forgot to include Henry because you got selective Amnesia? ... we'll assume ! Dillian and Henry have the same KO ratio but Dillian is 80 pounds heavier.... er so what? Whats the link you're trying to make there?? Dillian was also fighting guys 80 pounds heavier than Henry too lol and several inches taller than Cooper as well... actual heavyweights.
I continue to bring good Ol' Henry up to keep the Muhammed Ali rose tinted fantasy match ups in check where people wanna say Ali would beat everyone including Godzilla
But he would beat Itauma tho, bad match up. Itauma would waste his gas tank chasing him and would have to set up a 1 punch KO shot early or he's screwed. Ali was faster with much lighter feet and better jab at his peak, the straight right will be finding its mark more often than you think and Ali had the more proven chin
Itauma in front after 8 rounds. He gasses out ( really he gets worn down by punches ) and in the 9th Ali destroys him knocking him allover the ring. He's about to K.O Itauma but the ref waves it just before the towell is thrown. He falls over on his side with his head slumped in the corner. He has to leave the ring on a stretcher.
Itauma might not even beat Francois Botha. He'd certainly struggle. Ali lol. I'm not even an Ali fan I think he's overrated. But he'd destroy Itauma.
It's almost superhuman seeing the workrate in those conditions of both Ali and Frazier especially when considering they were both past their best. Itauma was catatonic after 8 rounds in an air conditioned arena. Ali drowns Itauma by about the halfway point of a 15 round fight.
Who the **** is Shane Fury??? Who's he ever fought??? He's not the fighter his father was and Big John was arse.
Ali got up and stopped Cooper the very next round. Crisis averted. Itauma was put on a stretcher at his first taste of adversity lol. See the difference?
Look to that stupid **** he wrote to you. "But Ali would be a cruiserweight today." waahhh.. Ali was way harder than Itauma fake ass.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I really can't understand how anyone could think Itauma could beat any version of Ali (age 36 or younger). Ali's chin, stamina, and mental toughness rivals Hrgovic's, and Ali had far better legs and hand speed (than Hrgovic). This is assuming Ali would be taking Itauma seriously and at least being reasonably prepared.
