Look at the types who let Jones in. Joyce, Dubois, Catterall etc. Not a brain cell between them.

Well, Jones rode off the coattails of the massive success Joyce had from the start of his career, almost like it was his own success and so on.

The bull**** part though is saying he recommended an accountant and so on for Joe to see for tax planning and all the rest of it – that's worse. The guy was his manager, should've been accompanying him at worst, to ensure he understands what's even being said in those rooms.

Really hope it's not an HMRC situation weighing on him – they're total scumbags, and unless you're used to dealing with them, they'll put unnecessary pressure and charges on people to the point they break them personally and financially.

Word on the street is that he’s a sucker for brasses over in vegas during training camps. They will eat up your dough very quickly

Tax deductible expense, that, mate. And far less than what he paid Jones over the years.

Let's hope for the poor brass's sake that he's faster in the sack than in the ring.

Depends which Joyce shows up – peak Juggernaut would've been a handful for anyone, just ask Lenroy. Makes you wonder what cut Haye was taking off him around then too.

Quite the throuple, Haye, Joyce and Jones.

His accounts on companies house are interesting.

His last dividend he took wasn't a small chunk of change but he he hasn't filed accounts since the year end 2023

Well, that's a positive – he can just let that company burn and set a new phoenix company up. Obviously there'll be creditors, but they'll get gratis, unless he made some personal guarantee. Plus HMRC's now a preferential creditor, so any actual trade creditor's got no chance, to be honest.

Irrespective, it also kind of shows where Joyce is financially though. Although there's so many ways to navigate funds in and out of LTD companies, so maybe he's already got the money out and left the creditors taking the hit. But you can guarantee he never paid his tax, though.

Therefore Sam Jones is left holding the bag for whatever he believes he's owed.

He had some big fights after those accounts were filed as well.

So does seem insane that the money appears to be gone.

Must be some fairly average decisions made

Early on in his career, presumably as they were falling around trying to make him more interesting, much was made of Joe having a degree (just checked, 2:1 in fine arts from middlesex)and him being the smartest boxer around.

Wasn't long before Frank stuck a sombrero on his head though, so maybe they'd already decided he wasn't going to pass as a giant genius.

Still sad to see he's in such a mess after a considerable time around the top end of the most lucrative division. He clearly shouldn't be boxing any more, don't like to think where this is heading :(

Well, he's paying tax 9-12 months behind after being paid, so he's simply spending what comes in, then using the next fight to pay the tax bill and try to catch up. But obviously post-Zhang, the money became less and the activity not enough to maintain the lifestyle and cover all the expenses. As you said some really bad money management from Joyce.

Hope at least he's asset rich and got some properties paid off, or he'll be forced to fight indefinitely. But at least he can just let that company go and start clean with a phoenix, just like Warren used to do back in the day.

I know what you're saying here but Warren had a judgement against him on a guarantee (if I remember right) that Calzaghe's show didn't cover, and Sports Network simply didn't have the money. Joyce owing S-JAM would be pretty poetic if they're managed him into a situation where he can't pay their management bill...

HMRC's a preferential creditor, and looks like Joyce popped owing them close to £1 million, which is exactly how you'd want to do it – so little chance anyone else owed gets paid.

Warren used to have all the phoenix companies set up years in advance, kept dormant, so he could basically transition into the next one with no waiting and nothing looking suspicious – the new company's already got a historical incorporation date predating the old one popping.
