Hrgovic proved how the Klitschkos would dominate this era.

David Haye could be a great addition, speed kills and I think he would sleep a whole lot of these heavyweights cold. He would be a star, master on the mic, fan favourite style when his little toe holds up, just happened to bump into Klitschko on a night when it was the fastest heavyweight jab I’d seen live.

 

Wlad couldn't even beat Samuel Peter without getting dropped 3x but he's going to dominate Dubois?

 

Haye had a chance to deliver excitement at Heavyweight and despite those promises he didn’t deliver and had several boring stinker fights. Haye was a Glass Jawed Fighter who shut it down and tried to box off the back foot against the better heavyweights he faced.

 

Usyk is clear number 1, Dubois beat Hrgovic. Whilst I think either Klitschko would be battling for the top spot in this era, Hrgovic is not a good measuring stick

 

With all due respect, Vitali was better than Hrgovic.

Either Klitschko beats Usyk imho. Fury's awkwardness would always give Wlad problems. Vitaliy would solve Fury though I wonder how the come-forward Fury matches up w Vitali.

 

He knocked him out without being dropped in the rematch.

 

Usyk beats both Klitschkos, Vitali probably easier than Wlad.

Fury at his best also beats both, Vitali again likely being the easier matchup due to his lack of speed and power.

Perhaps Wlad and Vitali are better than the others but there are plenty of matchups they can lose. Undefeated Zhang for instance may be a nightmare for Wlad. Itauma may well be able to blitz Wlad early like Sanders. If Dubois is the A-side, he may be able to punch and headbutt Vitali to a TKO loss.

Wlad and Vitali were not facing a lot of quality contenders, especially not those who matched them in size and speed. When they fought guys who were not outmatched in those respects, they invariably lost (Lewis, Fury, AJ).

 

Yep. He would dominate Dubois and KTFO Dubois.

 

Usyk beats both though? Not sure what your point is, Fury already beat Wlad.

 

Vitali is generally overrated, but so is Hrgovic - levels to this, Vitali would win wide.

Usyk would best Vitali 9/10... And probably beat Wlad 6/10 on cards.

Fury wouldn't touch prime Wlad - he out-stunk old Wlad on the cards and avoided the rematch... Wlad badly wanted to set that record straight but wasn't interested in the AJ rematch - that tells you plenty about Wlads ability to assess which rematches were worth fighting, and that's when he was comfortably past prime.

Fury and Vitali would be interesting.

 

Ice baths were mainstream in the early 2000s when Vitali was still in his prime, and athletes were using them even back in the 70s.

I know I tried too, Bud. People are entitled to their option. I don't see Wlad ever beating Dubois. I'm not the only one with that take.
Dubois is better than Peter & Byrd, to me as are some other heavyweights.
These Heavyweights are far deeper and more skilled than Peter & Byrd & Brewster & Maskaev etc. The previous generation was top heavy with klitschko's it wasn't a deep boxing class from Bottom to the top. There's a multitude of so many different fighters today.

Sure. Doesn't mean the first fight was a fluke though.
