Looks a bit soft maybe but this isn't a bodybuilding contest. Muhammed Ali wasn't ripped, Fury is skinny fat... Hrgovic is not anymore ripped or bigger.
He's tubby. Ali wasn't ripped but he was toned and perfectly proportioned for a boxer. Itauma isn't toned or built for endurance.
Itauma has been known for liking the "nightlife" and his weight has ranged a lot in his short career, between 235.5 and 254. That is a comparable range to a young Tyson Fury. Itauma is not the most disciplined, for sure. This is one reason why the "he can come back from a loss, Wlad came back from three" stuff is silly. Wlad was perhaps the most disciplined, obsessive, backside-retentive HW champion of all time. In that respect, he had an elite mindset. And Wlad was able to take losses in his stride without totally losing confidence or the fire being extinguised prior to him being 41. There is no evidence that Moses "I don't even like boxing, I want to make my money and get out" Itauma, who had never lost before and was even more hyped, can do that.
Hid body type reminds me of a prime Holmes. Pretty close to dad-bod physique with some muscle mass. Some fighters can go 15 rounds with no problem looking that way, but Moses clearly has stamina issues. I suspect he doesn't get in a whole lot of road work.
You're pushing this "Moses gonna quit, Moses Won't recover, Moses won't come back" subplot real hard there mystic meg. Get a therapist and talk about why you got it in for Moses so much. Get a life, rather than hoping to see young talented men fall on their face and trip up in life.
Hrgovic had visible abs in their fight. He got rid of the dad bod, at least for that fight. And yes, Wilder and AJ are two of the few modern HW boxers who are never seen without visible abs. I think Wilder has a crazy fast metabolism naturally and probably shrinks down to 205 if he's not purposely stuffing his face daily; AJ is disciplined and has so much muscle mass that of course he's always lean. Haven't we seen him as high as 255 with visible abs? The problem for Ituama is that his single best trait is his speed. Every extra pound he carries is just harming that trait. It's not that a HW needs to be lean to have good stamina (see Fury, Kabayel, etc), but when everything you do goes off bouncing around like you're a welterweight, being 240 instead of 225 hurts you.
Muscles don’t win fights as we all know but I do get the thinking, he’s a young guy with peak metabolism, committed to the sport, living clean? and constantly in the gym -you probably would expect better shape physically I guess
Unless that physic is due to his poor training. If he trained harder and worked on stamina would he have a different physic?
Bit of baby fat...I think his biggest problem with the stamina is lack of experience. He needs to go the distance to learn to pace himself.
Moses needs to be between 220 and 230, ideally low 220s. He would reap the benefits of not carrying useless timber around
he's not in ideal shape, so yeah hes fat. but that applies to most heavies. its just that in every other division the benefits of losing every ounce of useless fat are much much greater than they are for the big boys. because in all those other divisions the less fat you have, the bigger it makes you over your opponents. as contrary as that sounds on the surface.
