I'm just curious as to your thoughts on this? It always seemed a bit unfair to me when a fighter has lost the fight, or it's considered controversial, so they rematch... Then the fighter rights that wrong, but never gives a Third fight to the other guy. Any views on this or are we over it at that point?
When there aren't any mandatories waiting. Having the famous princes have their private tea party while the rubble is left to eat the scraps doesn't sit right with me. Do the third fight a few fights later. These forced instant trilogies are often just a media fabrication. But when it is genuine and noone has been waiting for long, it's good
I mean you see how ruiz expected to get s third fight against Joshua? He might even have done well if his loss had motivated him. But I don't want boxing to give third fights per default. it's just an incentive for guys like ruiz to not care about the second fight. And everyone else is waiting to get their shot...
Yeah in terms of that, a 3rd fight can just be a money grab which they were in the 1940s sometimes (depending on weight and time). Contracts these days I believe are negotiated a lot differently compared to the 90s. What about something like, Lewis-Rahman?
