I've had an inkling this would be his fate the first time he faced a genuine puncher, for going on 9 years, after seeing this journeyman drop him twice in the first round.:D There's a clear reason why he's been avoiding punchers ever since.

Conman Benn is a glass jawed fraud of the highest degree.

It’s extremely rare to have an A tier iron jaw, of the last twenty years some of the most renowned you can suggest are Golovkin, Alvarez, Froch, Hrgovic, Margarito, Provodnikov for example as proven against genuine world class punchers. We can’t hold it against every fighter who doesn’t possess legit IRON and can’t just shrug off 95% of heavy bombs. All those guys are obviously multiple times the fighter Benn can dream of being at the stage he’s at but within their toolkits they had a stupendous ability to absorb vicious bombs and dish it back out when they had to. Garcia hits very hard, everybody knows he’s a dangerous puncher if he can land. I wouldn’t necessarily say Benn has a questionable chin from this fight. He got completely clobbered by a wind up hail mary rushing in like ‘an athletic amateur’ as Garcia would say, by a genuinely world class puncher. He was out of it but still got up and was trying to defend himself.

He took some decent damage at 160+ from a depleted Eubank who does have power but is not the most devastating puncher, especially being at retirement phase and weak from a weight cut. He has barely fought fighters who aren’t at the end of the line, someone pointed out the KO% of his opponents and it’s pretty bad. Benn somehow thought his resume translated to becoming almost invincible when fighting what he dismissed as mere lightweights now he fought two fights against a super middleweight. When he went life and death at continental level against the French part timer Peynaud getting dropped multiple times, did he forgot that wasn’t against a super middleweight? He probably has an above average chin to be fair to him, it’s definitely not glass, even if he had an impenetrable mandible that’s not enough to reach the very top. Some of those guys up there got dropped too, even the best chin doesn’t translate to indestructible. Luckily they possessed other elite attributes to supplement the bonus of having very reliable chins.

The one that dropped Conor Benn, most wouldn't have continued after that, and if it hadn't been a 12 round fight it would have been stopped there. Garcia throws haymakers and when they land accurately; good night Irene.
