It's a massive stretch to claim that nobody else from this era could beat an old Wlad especially given most never had the opportunity

Daniel Dubois did better against Joshua than Wlad and so did Ruiz and Parker

Plenty of guys have outperformed Wlad against Fury including Wallin and Ngannou

I drew the line at Kevin because he is their best mutual opponent currently, and it's revealing to see how many wins Fury has above a better Kevin than Dubois has had vs the faded Kevin.

Unbeaten Wallin was not very good but he is better than all but 3-4 wins on Dubois' resume. Dubois can pick up more wins sure but he can also lose more, and he already has more losses than Fury.

I was thinking that. If Netflix wants to put up the money, at this point after the Prenga near disaster, throw it in a high school gym if they want, hopefully fewer people watch Fury batter AJ around the ring like Dubois did, collect that bag, go home, let AJ retire in peace.

    1. Parker absolutely did not do better, you are on drugs if you think otherwise

    2. AJ fought a beaten non-champ Wlad in London 17 months later, not unbeaten in 11 years champ Wlad in Germany

    3. The stretch is trying to dismiss ATG A-side champ Wlad as a mediocre win; AJ and Wilder's management were not even thinking about putting their men in with him in 2015, which says a lot

    4. Wallin and Ngannou didn't fight equivalent versions of Fury, this is insane

How on Earth did Parker do better?
Because he saw the finsl bell?

I rate a loss by decision as better than a loss via kayo so indisputably he did better.

Why would you expect Wilder to fight even a diminished Wlad when he was so risk averse as champion? Joshua turned pro much later than Fury and was at a very different stage in terms of development.

A Friday night in Cardiff with the main even starting at 2am or even later? What a disaster in the making.

Friday forces many ticket buyers to take time off work just to get to Cardiff. They would then spend most of the night inside the stadium before being released into the city in the wee hours when public transport is at its absolute weakest.

This might be a win for Eddie Hearn's sizeable ego but calling this a victory for UK boxing requires ignoring the people in the seats who will have been so greatly inconvenienced.

If they are going to have the fight in UK it shouldn't be at 2am!

What's the point in having it in UK at daft o' clock?
The whole point of it being in UK is because it's the 2 biggest British heavyweight stars in decades that are finally going head to head.
Even though they are both well past their best there will still be a massive interest in the fight (mainly amongst casuals) in the UK.

It's ridiculous to change to a UK venue but have the fight at a time that suits the US market.

I'm sick to death of the whole debacle. I would love the ticket sales to flop and the greedy pigs not make a profit. The thought of both washed up fighters making so much money (especially Fury) pisses me off no end.

    Such a flawed logic

So if a fighter runs for 12 rounds he does better than a fighter who may have been going toe to toe
    . Ridiculous

Any rumours for the undercard? What are the chances we actually get some competitive fights, money bags Turki has arranged some amazing cards but they’ve been slacking lately, surely for this he’ll have some home runs? What was the chief support for that one at the pyramids? Sheeraz vs someone who had zero chance to win and for a title too!

It was always possible if we just used the Schwartz that was already inside of us.

"I rate a loss by decision as better than a loss via kayo so indisputably he did better."

That's funny. So Dubois doesn't just have more losses than Fury, his losses to Usyk are also worse than Fury's losses to Usyk, pushing him down further.

My point is that despite their abilities, Joshua and Wilder's teams didn't think they were close to being ready for Wlad in 2015. Their own terms considered the 2015 versions to be inferior fighters to champ Wlad, or at least unlikely to beat Wlad in Germany at that stage. Wlad was the man, it was on them to prove they were better.

Wlad was the unquestioned No.1 HW in the world when Fury toppled him. And when Fury toppled Wilder he was also the top rated HW (other than Fury) with all prominent rating organisations, so that's 2 wins over the No.1 HW to Dubois' 0.

It seems like good news, but Greedy Belly will find some excuse to back out like he always has. The fight will never happen.
