Which fight have you enjoyed watching the most?

Royal Albert Hall has to be one of, if not the best, venues in London, and not just for sport – just like Wimbledon Centre Court, not a bad seat in the house, even if you're in row Z.

 

Another big one for me was Nigel Benn Vs McClellan.
The build up was intense. McClellan came over as heavy favourite- a ferocious knock out artist who was going to destroy Benn.


And the fight certainly delivered!

First round looked like the fight was gonna be over as quickly as most predicted with Benn being knocked out of the ring in an early onslaught.

Somehow Benn not only got back in the ring but then went on to out bully the bully with an outstanding performance before stopping him in the 10th.

Sadly McClellan's sustained injuries that night marred the fight however it is still the most exciting fight, both build up and in the ring, that I have ever seen.

I had a chance to go to that fight but was at uni in Hull at the time, and figured it would be a mismatch, in that McClellan would win early, so missed out on probably the best fight in recent memory. Those back home who did all go still talk about the atmosphere and that fight to this day. Also mentioning how flat it was after, and there were still fights to go – I believe Adrian Dodson's breakout win, stopping Honeyghan, followed in the immediate aftermath.

 

Froch v groves

Froch was getting a huge push from sky at the time, the build up was great and I can remember everyone in work talking about the fight.

Had a few mates all come to mine for a session.

Fight wasn't half bad either !!

 

Pacquiaos run around the 2008-2012 time was a lot of fun to watch

Frankham is a fascinating fighter, must have been very frustrating to be a fan of his. The guy oozed quality but his style could be off putting especially abroad. If he had more spite on his punches he´d have been World class. Never seen the Frankham-Finnegan I, seen hls of the rematch which was another good fight. He´s some brief hls:

I would be disingenuous if I stated any fight I didn't see at the time, so with that in mind I would say Joshua-Klitschko. It was a fight with hype through the roof and delivered drama to match, though if one is being objective an aged Wlad demonstrated he was an echelon above AJ in terms of talent, and it is abundantly clear a younger Wlad would have gotten the job done by stoppage. In terms of fights I was most personally excited for, I would say GGG vs Canelo I and Kovalev vs Ward I, but both fights leave a bitter taste in the mouth given the egregiously unfair scoring.

 

Smith knocking Eubank out. By some distance. Was there, first fight I’d been to in years, great seats, the crowd was bouncing on the walk in. I knew he could well beat Eubank but I thought it was going to be horrible watch with some nervy moments and he would have to get him down the stretch. To come out and get it done nice and easy and early was great. The manner of it was great as well, great combo and lovely text book left hook to finish.

A couple where the man I really wanted to win lost but the build up and excitement were next level are Hatton Mayweather and Froch Groves one and two.

All piled in my mate’s living room for the Hatton fight, when he caught Floyd with that shot early on and we were all jumping up.

That beautiful 1 2 Groves snoozed Froch with we both shocking and exhilarating. Was always a fan of Groves since I saw him at Price’s pro debut. Written off as a next to nobody, only a few knew how good Groves could be. Didn’t like Froch either so was a great fight, would stull love to know where Froch gets that chin from. Awful stoppage but the controversy made the build up for the next one a joy.

Great stoppage in the second one by Froch in what was the real spark of the boom, when Joshua who is usually praised for it was only about second on in daylight with about 200 people in the stadium.

 

We didn't know how good we had it with guys like Froch around - fought regularly against the best possible opposition, no pissing around.

 

I agree the scoring was bad in both but Canelo GGG 1 is not in the same realm as robbery as Kovalev getting shafted vs Ward

 

Did everyone have GGG winning the second Canelo fight too?

 

yes but not as much as the first
