I'd put some higher, some lower, but not by a much. And I would replace Jack Johnson for Joe Frazier

Mad at myself. I meant to do a list but didn't have time when I first saw the post. Then I basically forgot. :duh

Ah C'mon now, I wonder if you are just trying to take pot shots at Vitali.
Because he only had 12 votes!
And notice that everyone below him is from a loooong time ago, except for Bowe.

I want to know the criteria given for selecting the list.
Was there any direction about how to weigh historical impact, record/record & length as a champ, opposition: & H2H?
Because if it was something basic like H2H, a huge guy with a granite chin & a high work rate might rate higher than this piddling # of votes.YES factor in who he fought-& the sizes of those earlier HWs fought, since we should consider absolute effectiveness not just relative to your peers.

My main point is he got very few points & votes, so even dinging him for the opposition he fought Vitali is not giving him that much-let alone comical" support.

How many of the guys above him would win almost all rounds vs. even the same opposition, especially if they were the size of modern day rehydrated LHWs?

I don't disagree with Wlad rating higher than Frazier. But is losing to Ali and Foreman worse than losing to Sanders and Brewster? Wlads long and dominant reign is what separates them, but I believe Frazier beat the better fighters.

All participants just needed to submit their "Top 10 Greatest HWs of All Time" lists. Everyone has their own criteria how they rate greatness.

    Hi Buddy.
I am steeped in admiration for posters like yourself, that put a lot of time and effort into compiling such lists, it is really commendable, thanks doesn't seem adequate, but thanks anyway. bravo.

Of course it's not, but he went 1-2 against those guys - not 1-4. And we know if he would have fought Brewster again he would have evened that record up (2-2). If Vitali wasn't around I think Wlad would have gotten his revenge on Corrie as well.

    Uh, no he wouldn't.

Sanders handled the Frazier protegee, Bert Cooper, with ease. And Coop was stronger and hit harder than Joe.

    I usually have...

    Ali
    Louis
    Holmes
    Wlad
    Liston
    Johnson
    Lewis
    Holyfield
    Frazier
    Tyson

But sometimes Bowe sneaks in. Usually instead of Frazier or Tyson. I also sometimes change Holmes, Louis and Wlad about as they are, in my opinion, pretty interchangeable. Holmes maybe toughest of the three H2H, Louis record best of the three?

Oh. And sometimes Lewis sits at second. Usually on a rainy Tuesday evening in November...
