For all the Oscar De La Hoya fans that are till bitter about that fight even though it has been more than 9 years since it happened!!!

At least the agument could be made for TITO to be included in that tier of fighters, unfortunately you can't make the same argument for Oscar!

Sorry guys, but it is true!!!!

You know what really bothers me??? When I see ATG lists and people put DLH on top of Tito... WTF??? Don't get me wrong, I think that in their fight it was going to be a Draw or DLH W but it didn't happened. Right after Tito got the W from DLH he fought people like Vargas, Reid, Joppy, etc and those people were never the same after they faced Tito... Actually, I will dare to say that ODLH basically fought Tito's leftovers after their fight in '99

What I dont get is how some people don't even like Tito? What is it not to like? The guy was charismatic, never ducked anybody, class act all the way through, and sooner or later he answered every single "what if" that we at boxing fans had. Gave us great moments, left a bunch of us in awe as we watched him beat opponent after opponent, because we didn't believe that "skinny" guy could do anything. He fought the top dogs in his era just like every ATG has done. So what is the difference between him and DLH? That Tito never was a strategician like DLH is in and out of the ring. DLH made fights for the casual fan, Tito made fights for the hardcore fan.

Definitely not top 5. That's an absurd statement. All of the below could be argued ahead of him, depending on your criteria. As it is, I do have him in my top 15 based on accomplishments.

    Robinson
    Leonard
    Griffith
    Gavilan
    Napoles
    Rodriguez
    Basilio
    Hearns
    Burley
    Walker
    Armstrong
    Walcott
    Lewis
    Britton
    Ross
    McLarnin
    Ryan
    De La Hoya
    Whitaker
    Benitez

I don't think he has much of a shot at Basilio to be honest. He'd be crowded all fight long by the stronger, tougher fighter who'd be able to take what Tito dished out. Tito needed at least mid-range spacing and timing to get his shots off, when crowded it was hard for him to work, and Basilio would play that to a tee, often forcing him to back up, making his punches less effective.

I don't agree. Trinidad probably had the better chin (although Tito took quite a few spills to the canvas) and better left hook upstairs, but not too much else.

Tommy had better boxing skills and footwork, better jab, amazing straight right hand, equally effective left hook to the body, quicker hands.

I'd also make Tommy the favorite over Trinidad H2H. Tito's vulnerability to the straight right hand, against arguably the greatest right cross in WW history, would spell doom.
