When George Foreman made his comeback, he was usually in the 250's right? That seems so strange to me, seeing as in how I weigh 270 and look nothing like George. He has soooooo much more muscle mass than me. And muscle weighs more than fat. How can it be that he only weighed in the 250-260 range? I suppose that a method of hiding his true weight from the general public was improbable, because of all of the weigh-ins, but seriously, this just doesn't seem right. Any thoughts?

I think it looked about right. The camera truly does make people look fatter.

Hmm... suppose maybe your right. But still, with all of that muscle mass, I would have thought that it would be more.

George always kept in relative shape but he looked like a big, bloated, greasy, sloppy replica of himself for his first comeback fight.

He weighed 267 for his first comeback bout with Steve Zouski. Lowest was 235 for Quawi. Mostly between 250- 260 range.

Gosh, that just seems so strange to me. He was so Damn Big. I would have easily thought that he weighed 270-280 if I saw him on the streets back then.:huh

He didn't look as bad as TV made him look.

It must be remembered and imagined, if you've never spent time around him, that he's a HUGE dude. Just a big, thick guy.

Yeah, I can agree. I met George in November 1999, when he was down here in Southern California promoting his Foreman Grill. I drove down to South Coast Plaza (Orange County) just to meet him and get a picture with him (My little sister went as well). Foreman was dressed in a suit and he was, indeed, a thick, broad, powerful looking guy.
I was, however, expecting him to be taller. I'm just about 5'10", and he didn't appear all that tall to me. In his comeback he was always listed as being 6'4", but he didn't seem that tall to me -- more like 6'2".

But his nephew was gigantic. He was several inches taller than George and probably outweighed him by 30-40 pounds.

He did appear heavier than what he was listed at during most of his comeback. I mean, there are a lot of fighters around who weigh what George weighed (245-255) and look a lot leaner and skinnier than George did, even at shorter heights.
Look at Frank Bruno. He was 6'3" and 245-249, and he was a physical specimen -- not fat anywhere.
Andrew Golota, Ike Ibeabuchi, Oliver McCall, Hasim Rahman -- all these guys could carry a lot of weight without looking overly fat.
Even a short guy like David Tua could carry 245 pounds and not appear as fat looking as George did.

    It's all rather strange actually.

Frank Bruno only weight 245 plus when he was toward in the end of his career. In his prime he was usually around 220 or so odd pounds.

I think a lot of that has to do with age, too. I'm sure a 26 year old Foreman could've weighed in at 250 without looking as fat as 46 year old Foreman. With age, skin naturally tends to sink and the stomach area seems to bloat up a bit more, even when people are still in good shape. George had the body that he had back in 1977, just by 1987 and 1997, it was surrounded in a layer of fat, which is where the extra weight came from.
