Give Fitz credit in that department, he at least fought Jack Johnson.

Mayweather fought 20 World Title fights, fighting the best and hasn't been very rarely landed on. And before you start don't try to tell me Ross cleaned out everyone 135-147 because he certainly didn't

Delahoya is a better than anyone Ross beat, and who did Ross fight weighing 165 on fight night? Because Delahoya weighed that against Mayweather. Delahoya was past prime but 34 isnt old and Mayweather was giving up a load of weight, ring size, glove choice etc etc

Armstrong isn't a super fighter at Welterweight, he was small, not that strong, not a puncher. He had a phenomenal workrate and an excellent pressure fighter with good headmovement and fast relentless combinations. But Hatton and Castillo would beat Ross just the same way Armstrong did

How many times did he beat Jeffries again, I forgot. TBH this shows as much about Jeffries as it does about Fitz, hence on the overrated list

Still not thought of an attribute Ross does better than Mayweather Lowe? Didn't think so, its interesting how you never challenge any of my points

Which points? You wrote DLH is better than anyone Ross ever beat. That alone disqualifies you from any serious discussion about Ross. McLarnin and Canzoneri alone are leagues above DLH.
Also you have a history of not beeing a worthy discussion partner when it comes to certain fighters because you are to biased. PBF is one of them. So, why should I bother? You won´t ever see the late and I don´t like wasting my time.

You should learn to spell my name right. :bart

Just thought I'd point out that he fought some big men at a lowly 167 or so, and in the pre-steroid era that's impressive. He was also beating Jeffries until the larger man's natural advantages in size and strength took their toll.

Hatton and Castillo dont even have Armstrong work rate. Most cases Ross out boxs sluggers or brawlers like he did Bat. But Armstrong was on other level, it was not Armstrong's slugging skills that won the fight, hell I gave the first 4 or 5 rounds to Ross. He was taming Armstrong pretty easy. But once Armstong's work rate took over, All Ross did was hang on and take a beating until the end. I dont see how Hatton could beat Armstrong unless he starts thowing over 100 punchings a round like Henry did. That was relly the only way to do it, no one else before was able to do that to Ross. It was the punchout that won the day. But as far as pressue fighters go, Hatton and Castillo are no were near the same league, there perhaps below Bat also.

I'll be honest, I'm still not sure if your posts are a joke. Monzon unskilled? Armstrong overrated in 3 different weight classes? Judah makes a mess of who exactly? Barney Ross not a great fighter?

Ross would embarrass Castillo and Hatton.

McLarnin and Canzoneri aren't top draw skill wise and Canzoneri is a damn midget and Mclaernin best win is an ancient Leonard.

If you want we can compare resumes, I think you'll find Delahoya's resume pisses on Ross, McLarnin and Canzoneri's

Hatton throws 60punches a round and hes much bigger, stronger and harder hitting than Armstrong. Castillo beat similar fighters in Casamayor and Stevie Johnson, both were faster and slicker than Ross.

    1. Monzon - is he anywhere near as skilled as Hopkins? Hell No, hes basic

    2. Armstrong - rated by most on here top3 P4P, bull****, he gets whooped comprehensively by Duran, Mayweather, Sanchez and Whitaker at their respective weight classes. That is my problem with Armstrong being rated so highly

    3. Yes Judah would beat Ross, hes faster, better reactions, far far bigger hitter, stronger. How the hell is Ross going to win because it isnt by beating Judah to the punch or knocking him out. And Ross would just get beaten up by Judah

Obviously you can tell I forgot to put Ross on my overrated list, he isn't that good, although at LW he has merit

So 99.99% of boxing experts, trainers, fighters, etc... are wrong. And the fact that Monzon went unbeaten for so long, cleaned out a stronger division, beat better fighters, would never have drawn to Mercado, would never have lost to Calzaghe (especially after dropping him in the first), holds the record for defences... none of those count for anything? he did all that but was basic? if that's the case I've no idea how Benvenuti won best boxer at the Olympics, or how Griffith won 3 titles, or how Bennie Briscoe was co-ordinated enough to put one foot in front of the other.

Armstrong does not get beaten comprehensively by anyone in his prime. Why bother even arguing it? You think those guys can beat him then fine. They are all top fighters but give yourself some room to manouvere. the whole thread is starting to feel like a group of guys picking on a kid in the playground.

Judah wouldn't train at the same gym as Ross, let alone beat him. Boxing is a hell of a lot more than who hits first and who hits hardest.
