valuev didn't have a fight when povetkin dropped out, he would have been best.

I was fine with Haye fighting Rahman. Haye picked Barrett, who he called himself an old journeyman with no good wins and has been Ko'd a few times.

I started having a problem when Haye called JD Chapman "the ideal opponent", and was looking to fight bums. Barrett was the best of the soft touches Haye was hoping to fight.

Really LMFAO! Haye said he couldn't fight Barrett because he wanted someone to actually show up to watch the fight. And a journeyman with no good wins. Now that he is fighting Barrett he is such a dangerous fighter.

I know someone here has the clip.

Barrett is okay for Haye for his heavyweight debut. And Wlad had to fight his mandatory, which is Hasim Rahman, the highest ranked available contender!

Povetkin pulls out, not Wlad. Wlad wants to stay busy to KO Haye in the summer of 2009.

...."and the winner is: Wladimar Klitschko"!!

He just keeps on winning. I know it hurts.

I don't like the fight either but on short notice it is OK. The Heavyweight Division is such a mess and there are not that many good fighters to choose from.

maybe because haye has never proven a ****ing thing in hw division whereas the klits bros have fought every top hw and will continue doing so...I am not so sure haye is a joke to fight rahman but he is not at klitschkos level in any way...haye is a nobody until he BEATS a klitschko or at least ko's a few hw's...until then he should just shut his big mouth

Rahman is not Wladdys mandatory. It voluntary defence and very disapointing choice of a opponent.

Suge - relax, you're going to have a stroke.
As I posted in another topic. Most HWs - from J Johnson to Marciano to Ali - have made defences against weaker opponents. HR has a name & resume. He might land a big punch and make it a tough fight - maybe even win.

Why the higher standard for Wlad since he's not as "great" as the above HWs :yep

And you know better... you can't always get the best fight soon enough. At least he's active. If Wlad wasn't you'd be on him for that :-(

Give it a rest. Wlad is the guy at HW. Hell even his old injury prone bro came back to beat SP. Have the SAMites gotten over that yet?

Povetkin pulls out, have you forgotten this?

Now Wlads mandatory is the next available contender, and this is Rahman!

The Champion had not to wait because his mandatory is injured or did not want or .....

And than the winner of Arreola vs. Walker will be the next IBF Mandatory.

Suge, you're right...this fight is a joke. But, who else is available for Wlad that would be approved by HBO? I don't want to see this fight...it's going to look just like Ray Austin!! A fight with Oleg Maskaev will end up the exact same way!!

Time constraints aside, I thought the idea of Haye Rahman was a good one.

That possible fight had my full endorsement, as does Wlad Rahman. Both would be good fights, in my book........:good

So in the words of Lennox Lewis, "I don't know what you're talkin' about!"
