What is the big problem with Calzaghe show boating against Jones jr????
If i remember rightly Jones jr is one of the biggest show boaters around.
remember the punch from behind his back. sticking his chin out to Toney etc.
you people seem to have a short memory.
So Calzaghe won and ****ed about a bit while doing it. So ****ing what.
Stop bitching like whiny girls and get over it.
And lets start the inevitable Dawson hype job against Calzaghe threads.
    Oh joy :hi:

It is hilarious how people think he showboated to "disrespect" Roy

They both showboated, put on a show that was indeed watchable.

My question to you though, is.. could he showboat with his hands down to a Floyd Patterson that weighed 175lbs?:think

The only negative thing about JC "showboating" is that when he leads with his head with his hands down, he leaves himself open to a punch. Both Bhop and RJJ put him down with quick punches while his hands were down. It wasn't important in those bouts but it might result in a KO down the road.

That's just what I meant. If Patterson or Bob Foster hit JC with the same punches that BHop and RJJ did, it would have been lights out for Joe.

    Could he-Yes
    Should he-No
Would he- Probably. Till he got put on his backside, then he might stop.

    Exactly.

It was a good-natured contest between too fighters with a lot of respect for eachother. There was no nastiness in the posing.

Calzaghe beat Jones at his own game, in every way. He even out-showboated Roy. For Roy Fans it's like insult to injury. But the two fighters themsevles were cool with it, tons of mutual respect in there which was awesome to see.

I didn't like Joe showboating last night for one reason. Thats not Joe Calzaghe.

Anyone bitching and moaning wants to remember Jones showboating over opponents once he'd put them down.

It was uneccersary as it just gives the haters one more thing to moan about, the same haters that forgot that Roy made a career of showboating.

Some of it was very cringeworthy though..:patsch

I found Calzaghes showboating to be hilarious. The one at the end of round 3 against Jones and when he butt ****s hopkins had me spitting my beer.
