It is entirely possible. I backed Cunnigham against Huck, but Adamak is clearly better than Marco Huck imo and will present some problems for Steve Cunningham. I have to say I do like Adamek's chances here.

How is he 25 pounds north of his natural weight, when you then say that he was severely weight drained against Dawson.

Either LHW is his natural weight or CW is, can't have it both ways.

Cunningham is from Philadelphia, which is about 90 minutes away from Newark, NJ, where this fight will be held. The well established Polish communities of Passaic & Wallington are only a stone's throw away from Newark. I expect The Prudential Center to be packed with White & Red. Not that this will help Adamek in the ring, but I'm sure he'll feel like the home town favorite in this one.

All I can think about is how Cunn was shocked into holding all night in his 1st fight with Wlodarczyk, after he got tagged pretty good. When he feels Adameks power, I can see him becoming a bit defensive & that will allow Tomasz to show off his boxing skills.

The only way Steve can win is by a KO, & I highly doubt Adamek will stand for that. Tomasz will win by UD in an excellent fight, as long as your an Adamek fan!

I agree, they are close to the same level in terms of skill.

Otherwise, the difference is Cunningham ~2 inches taller, has half a foot of reach on Adamek, and is the naturally bigger man by 25 lbs.

Not to mention he is the champion and they are fighting for his belt, in the USA (with Adamek travelling).

So yes it would be a tremendous victory if Adamek pulls it off.

I see too many advantages for Cunningham. He has much faster hands, throws faster combinations, has a better jab and better footwork. I dont see him dropping many rounds and cruising to an easy UD.

**Edit also i think USS's lateral movement will throw adamek off his game. His lateral movement is quite good.

Jet, you've got it backwards my friend. Cunningham's chances for a points decision are way bigger than his chances at a KO. Bell hit Adamek clean and didn't phase him much. USS could stop him late, like he TKOed Marco Huck, but he is more of a slickster. I could see him outboxing Adamek, outmuscling him, and wearing him down in the clinch on the inside...IMO. :good

Let me explain. Right now, he is better fitted to Cruiser, ie, I doubt he could make LHW without draining himself again.

Naturally, he is a 175lber. This is where he spent the bulk of his career and most of his prime years.

It's like with Calzaghe: he is a natural 168 lber who is better off fighting at 175 these days, because he would have to drain himself too much to make weight. (For a more pronounced example, see James Toney.)

I agree, it will be VERY tough. A lot of my Polish friends get quite excited with their predictions, but the reality is that Adamek has his plate full.

I still think he can win, but he needs to fight a near-perfect fight.

I will disagree with the handspeed, they are close to even there...but Cunningham's movement is bound to give Adamek problems.

Support your fighter. Nothing wrong with that. I edge Cunningham in handspeed but not by a huge amount. Combine that slight handspeed advantage though wwith his lateral movement and Adamek will look much slower.

Good luck, (dont wager on it:bbb )
