You basing this off seeing a documentary as opposed the real fight?

From the 9th onward Taylor might have kept on winning the rounds but he was taking a beaten.

If you are out, you are out. It does not if its the first or the 12th. The rules don't change.

No, but the Chavez-Taylor legendary nights episode was one of the worst documentaries ever.

By the way there were 6 seconds left and Taylor didn't respond to the ref. I feel sorry for Taylor, but it was a good stoppage.

Well most of the arena was in cheers over the last second victory. Also Letterman said that the ref made the right call. So you are wrong on all 3 accounts.

The ref should have heeded the red light which indicated ten seconds left in the round.Bad stoppage.

Calzaghe-Mitchell was fine.I agree on Tyson-Ruddock 1 and in fairness Ruddock went the distance in the rematch.

Joey Curtis made the blunder of the century when he halted "Dokes-Weaver 1" back in 1982.... I was pissed to the max....

"Tyson vs. Carl Williams" in '89 sucked bad.... Thanks to Randy Neuman.... Williams got up, but was never given the chance to fight back or hold on for a brief moment.... URGH!!

Taylor tragically suffered permanent damage int aht fight and was never quite the same. I understand he is not doing well these days. The tradgedy is that it was not stopped earlier when it might have made a difference.

Referees dont get much time to make a call, Richard asked Meldrick if he was ok.. there was no answer.. Richard knew it was near the end but not exactly how near.. It only takes a split second to get badly hurt, I have to say the call, looking back was ok.. considering the circumstances...

Meldrick was an awful mess and looked like he was done, and if the clock would have had say 20 seconds on it Chavez would have been medievil on his ass. CORRECT STOPPAGE ... and i am Meldricks BIGGEST fan..

  14. When the ref ask's if you are ok and you don't respond, then the ref has the right to stop it :deal
This fight was way the **** back in 1990! it's been almost 20years!! people need to get over it and turn the page, quit whining :|
Chavez KO'D him in the rematch confirming he was the better fighter so deal with it..

ok obviously you guys didn't read the part where i said i watched the REAL FIGHT,yes i've seen it over and over again. To me it looked like he had won almost every round because he was landing so many more punches even tho jcc's were bone breaking, the point is the fight wasn't even close leading up to that ko.And if duva wasn't on the apron yelling like an idiot he would've been able to last 2 seconds without taking single punch guaranteed unless chavez sprinted from his corner and gave em one within the 2 seconds. But i'm still going to say he should've won that fight!!
