    Dougie: I can envision a Pacquiao victory on Dec. 6. I haven’t seen enough of the Filipino icon in camp to outright pick him to win, but I’ve seen enough of Pacquiao’s training for this fight to convince myself that he will be competitive. I don’t view this as a blowout or one-sided fight at all. I think Roach is being 100 percent honest when he says he believes Pacquiao can stop De La Hoya. They aren’t training or planning to try and take De La Hoya out early, or to even attempt to overwhelm the larger man from the start, but if they see any signs of weakness or fatigue late in the bout, they will press the action and try to force a stoppage.

    From what I’ve seen, Roach and Pacquiao are working on boxing from a distance, getting De La Hoya to lead and counter punching in the early rounds. The only time he’ll have Pacquiao dart in close is after he ducks or rolls under De La Hoya’s jab or right cross; once Manny is inside Oscar’s reach, he’ll crack the bigger man’s body from either side. They won’t apply pressure until it appears that De La Hoya has begun to fade, and Roach is pretty confident that will happen after six or seven rounds.

    Like you, I agree that “Oscar’s size, length, jab and left hook” will cause Pacquiao problems, which is why I believe this is such an intriguing fight.

    I hope it all works out ..I just hate the fact that Oscar has the size and power to KO little Manny ..Either way I hope he shocks the world .

    I just can't wait until Oscar takes him out, fights Hatton, and finally fight a WW contender or champ before he calls it a career. Too bad Roach couldn't fight professionally as good as he is talking. Roach is just brainwashing Pac into thinking he can win. Once he feels a WW's power, he will have to stay on the outside for the rest of the fight or however long the fight is.

    I know, but your talking about Forbes who was also fighting at 154 and beating some. Also, Forbes is known for taking a good punch. Pac has been knocked out cold in the past at a very lighter weight.

    And Oscar has been outboxed, since 1999, a total of what, 5 times? Last year against his daddy, Twice against Sugar Slave, in 1999 against Trinidad (6-5-1, Trinidad W12 DLH) and against Hops. Also, arguably was outboxed against Sturm and Whitaker.

    When a fight is close, neither fighter was outboxed. Whitaker outboxed Nelson, he had a close fight with Hoya.

    Trinidad was the one outboxed, both Mosley fights were razor tight, and Hops took place at 160 against one of the best Middleweights ever.

    Manny started his career at 105, and has never fought above 135. You know that, right?

    I can't believe Dougie is peddling this fight as a real match.

    When it first came about I wondered if Pacquiao could pull it off. As time went on I came to my senses though. No way. DLH too big and just enough pressure will break the significantly smaller Pacman.

    Where the **** did Whitaker and DLH have a close fight. Did Oscar land a ****ing punch that night? I saw him miss entire combinations at a time.

    Trinidad won 6 rounds. Oscar won 5. 1 was even. Outboxed.

    Both Mosley fights were easy Mosley victories. In the 2nd fight, all three judges had it for Sugar Slave.

    And Driving Miss Daisy looked good for once.

    As Selfkill just posted, even the Hopkins fight he was I believe winning by points until he got stopped for the first time. The first Mosley fight was close and that is when Oscar parted ways with Arum and there was bad blood. As soon as the announcer said new champ, you could see in Oscar's face something was wrong besides losing the fight. Sturm is the only fight that was bad. Oscar vs SweetPea is debatable. I thought SweetPea won.
