those are the only really big stars I see at this time that most people know around the world. If I had to throw 2 more it would be Cotto and Wlad.

Koki Kameda is a megastar in Japan. Not necessarily in a good way, but everyone in Japan knows who he is. That alone probably puts him in the top 5, sadly.

Didn't say anything about America. 180 million people live in Japan; most of them know who he is. I doubt there are 5 other active fighters on the planet where 100 million people know who they are. DLH, Pac, maybe Hatton, maybe the Klitschkos, who else? Not counting the dessicated corpse of Evander Holyfield, who officially is still active...

In terms of mainstream appeal and awareness theres really only De La Hoya. Pac is a star in boxing circles but not outside of it, guys like Hopkins and Jones probably have more mainstream awareness.

The name of Ricky Hatton probably comes in at second.

    Australia.

I suppose i assume the US would be similar, which may be wrong, maybe some Americans can enlighten me, but hardly anyone outside of boxing circles here knows who he is. Unlike guys like De La Hoya, Hatton, Mayweather etc.

After this weekends fight though it should change a bit.

    Oscar
    Manny
    Hatton
    Klischkos

Floyd, if and when he comes back, will be the only mainstream superstar in America other than Oscar.
Pavlik was on the verge of becoming big in America until his fight with Hopkins.
If David Haye is half of what he says he is, he should become pretty big. He has a lot going for him other than boxing.
