JM22, I actually consider you just an avid fan who can at least tell the truth sometimes. I don't have a problem with someone who is clearly biased for their guy. I'm biased as **** for Paul Williams, but I can admit that other fighters are good. There are others who are worse than you, who just say ridiculous **** and lies.
I just hate when other people take it to another level but you are cool with me cause you dont talk **** like some of the other's:good
I may insult you and argue a case but the race and religion thing i leave out. By all means, you have permission to insult me just the same. :good
These threads are just foolish. No matter what, nearly everyone picks a fighter from a different era to beat the fighter from the modern era and it always seems to be by KO or the current fighter has chance. Some posters are picking Hearns to stop Margarito in 3, yet no one has stopped Margarito or truly hurt him since he was still a boy at 19 (Santos didn't hurt him nearly as bad as people make it out be). Hearns never fought a fighter like Margarito and wasn't known to throw 100+ punches for 12+ rounds. On the flip side, Margarito has never fought a one-punch KO monster with great boxing skills quite like Hearns had, though it can be argued that Cintron is a proven power puncher (power wise) in the vein of Hearns, though obviously nowhere near as good a boxer. Cotto hit him with everything, and while Cotto doesn't hit as hard, punch for punch as Hearns did, he hits damn hard and landed over 200+ punches on Margarito and still couldn't dent Margarito. Margarito has a damn good beard, relentless pressure and thudding power and you have to walk through hell to beat him. Of course, Hearns is considered one of the greats, and with good reason, but that's not to say he would win automatically based on this. You can't use his victory over Duran as a reason for an automatic victory, another great fighter, albeit a much smaller one than Margarito. Hearns landed a perfect shot on Duran and stopped him, it happens. Anyone can be hurt. Stylistically as first glance, you would assume Margarito would be open to many of Hearns shots, and he would, but the real key would be the fighters battle nature. And when pressured, as seen against Hagler, Hearns resorted to fighter all-out war. This would be his downfall. Margarito, with his superior chin and varied offensive attack would stop Hearns due to Hearns engaging in Margarito's fight. If Hearns could stay from a war and negate Margarito's pressure by boxing and landing enough power shots to keep Margarito honest, then Hearns wins a UD, but if he does what's in his nature and fights he loses to Margarito by KO. With Hearns, like any great power puncher, there always the chance that he lands a great shot like he did against Duran, as no man is invincible, but I would lean towards Margarito.
Sorry I do not agree that Cintron is a powerful KO puncher in the vein of Hearns. Come on he could not KO Jesse Feliciano and even Malignaggi dropped Lovemore Ndou. I originally thought Cintron to be a monster puncher but I am having second thoughts. Which top class fighter has he KO'd ?
Hey, he made a long post, that must mean it was even remotely sensible! The simple-minded ******s on here wanted me to post that.
Hearns by destruction. Margarito prides himself on eating the power punches of his adversaries. This is one case where it possibly sees him on the canvas in devastating fashion.
Margarito would be taking many shots for as long as it lasted. Surely he has a solid chin, but he would take heaps of punishment.
Margo/Clottey is starting on Showtime Classic Boxing right now if yu guys wanna watch it again. I'm gonna.
