So what does everyone think of Pavlik chances of unifying the MW division now?

Nobody is saying Pavlik is Willie Pep. And if I were fighting AA I'd evade his punches ****ing awesomely thank you. Probably with a plane ticket. My point was that AA throws really hard, really looping shots when he is unloading. If he caught Pavlik right, of course he could go down, but I think people are sleeping on Pavlik's chin, and I think Pavlik has the tools to beat AA, mainly high workrate, sufficient chin/recovery(the recovery being the important part) size and jab.

 

Taylor is much faster than AA. Throws better combos also.

 

Pavlik should never have been in the top 10 p4p list at any point in his career. There is still a big question in the MW division who is really the best and AA and Pavlik need to settle this in 2009.

Actually it was 8. And Taylor is lightning fast while AA is no faster than Pavlik.

Arthur has looked very good knocking out guys off the "C" list, but he has no one on his resume' that even inhabits the same planet as Jermain Taylor. Zuniga, who Pavlik destroyed over 3 years ago, would beat everyone on Arthur's resume', including Miranda.

Arthur seems like a good guy, and he is a warrior. He won my respect when he took the rematch with Miranda in Edison's backyard.

Based on the first Abraham/Miranda fight we know a few things for sure. 1) You don't need world class offensive skills to hurt Abraham. Miranda is sloppy as hell, but he mangled AA's face. 2) Someone with some power, accurate punching, and good finishing skills can take Arthur out. Miranda could not do it because he is to freaking sloppy. Pavlik is one of the best finishers in the game.

Based on the 2nd Miranda fight we know that Arthur gets very sloppy when he tries to finish. The first right hand was a thing of beauty. Everything after that was god-awful. The only reason it worked is because Miranda's defense is non-existant, and he has no idea what to do when he's hurt. You would not take Pavlik out with that series of punches. Hurt him, yes. Take him out, no way.

You can't stop Kelly Pavlik with one shot and a sloppy follow up. Taylor, who is vastly superior to AA in every department except one-punch power, could not stop Pavlik with 8 shots and a sloppy follow up.

Both these guys are tough as hell and have huge balls. However, AA gives up to many advantages to be considered the favorite. These guys are not distance fighters. They're both KO artists, and somebody is getting carried out. Pavlik KO8 Abraham.

 

Miranda and Taylor also looked to have much more bigger and chiseled upper bodies and they got KTFO by Pavlik. Also, Lacy looked like a badass against Joe and we all know how that turned out.

Miranda, Zuniga, and Taylor all have way bigger upper bodies than Pavlik. All three got destroyed, AND LEFT THE ****ING DIVISION!!

I do hope Abraham tries to play the bully with Pavlik. That's not really his style, but if he tries it with Pavlik I would change my prediction from a Pavlik by KO in 8 to Pavlik by KO in 3-4. Trying to bully Pavlik is about the stupidest plan he could possibly come up with.

Ithink Abraham and pavlik would be mad good, I could see pavlik punching through his defense and ko around 8 or 9. If felix fights King Arthur He will deffinately be the new ruler. Ithink Sturm will be tuff for anyone, he's very complete and unless Pavlik learns to use his hieght Sturm will probably best him to, he is alot slicker than Jermain and he's tuff.Dont get me wrong though I think Pavlik has the ability but he needs to work on more dimensions, he could be so much better.

I'm picking Abraham to get the job done and unify all by beating both Sturm and Pavlik if they make the fights.

 

That is laughable man. I'm not saying Abraham is slow, but Taylor is a damn fast fighter.

Oh well, I guess some people have Mayweather or something on their mind when judging speed. :verysad

 

If Pavlik listens to Hopkins advice and goes back to the gym and works on his deficiencies, then he beats everyone at MW. If it's the same old Kelly, then AA will own him.
