for those who don't have cable why dont HBO let you watch ppv on the internet, pay the same fee and watch online, it would stop a lot of pirates too

thats not a bad idea. It should be offered at lower cost than their normal PPV's mostly because I am sure streaming quality would be lower than even standard definition HBO

    I would partake, for sure.

Provided that it is guaranteed that the stream would be at least clean and not choppy.

Hell, they could probably charge less and make more.

Yeah, maybe a small discount. I think anyone who did it would make a fortune, with the increasing quality of bandwidth though you will soon be able to get very good quality streams

Not a bad idea at all. I'd love to watch ppv's on my computer.

What I'd really like to see however is a boxing channel get added to cable and satellite networks that covers all fights PPV and free that we could just pay a monthly fee for so that we wouldn't have to shell out 50 dollars once, sometimes twice a month. Sadly I don't think there's much demand for a channel like that, but I'd be the first to subscribe! All boxing all day and night...nice!

Answer: Get an FTA receiver and never pay for a PPV event/movie again. You can watch it in HD too, at no cost.

I would for sure pay for that.

    But HBO is too lazy.

It's not a question of laziness. Its a question of bandwith cost, technical internet streaming limitations and overall lack of interest for this kind of service. To my knowledge, there is not one major network which offers online streaming as its main, pay service. The only way its employed right now is as an added benefit to a bigger product (like NBA Season Pass on TV which also offers viewing games online). When NBC tried to implement online viewing of the last Olympics, it turned out to be a bust in terms of the number of users. And that was for free!
