Do you really think ODLH is that bad of a fighter?

If by "the whole fight" you mean rounds 9 thru 12, you have a point. Unfortunately it makes no sense... :think

Oscar won round 9 and round 10 was disputable. He only really ran for 11 and 12.

But then again... one judge gave Oscar the 12th... :patsch

I don't even think its about the money either. He already has plenty, he just likes to fight at this point in his life.

There ARE OBVIOUS opponents out there that would make a far more difficult fight, this just might be one of those fights where he has an agenda, perhaps bringing some attention to himself.. For one, he will be beating the, "Mexicutioner," and he will be punishing him in a sense for not signing with Goldenboy..

The thing is, Pac probably feels like simply fighting Oscar is a win win due to the purse. If there are groups guilty of fighting for money, it usually ends up being Oscars opponents, as they are the ones in search for a huge payday. Oscar cant help that he sells like a cheap hooker at a port.

I'm workin from memory here, I seemed to remember him back-pedelling for a substantial amount of time, rounds 10, 11, 12 sounds about right... It was a horrid decision though... ODLH got the better of almost every exchange in the early/mid stages. Some people called his strategy soft but clearly he thought, as I and many others did that he had built a lead worth protecting!

    As spoken by one of the greats;
"That decision stunk! Only in America..."
    Mike Tyson.

Yeah round 10 it certainly started, but it wasn't as bad as the last two. A case can easily be made to give the round to Oscar (to make the margin ever wider).

I still to this day can't believe Tito got the nod. Terrible, terrible decision, Mike is spot on.

On another note: I'm watching some old Oscar fights before Saturday, I just finished watching the first Chavez fight. **** he was a good fighter back in the day! Chavez was certainly aging, but he'd still only lost ONE fight in 99 at the time, and Oscar just never let him into the fight. His blend of speed and power, a granite jaw and combination punches would give a peak Chavez, and anybody else from 135-140 absolute fits, as well as 147.

I really don't see any fighters of that quality (Oscar was 23 at the time) coming through the ranks today. Where are all of the Mosleys, Oscars, Titos, Floyds, Barreras, Jones', Hopkins', Morales', Pacquiaos, Whitakers, Chavezs? What a generation that was...

You're bound to lose some when you fight every great fighter through the divisions he touched. Nobody has a resume that even comes close to his that is still active. He beat Whitaker, Quartey, Chavez, Vargas among others, on paper. In reality he beat Mosley and Trinidad on top of that, though you could probably take Whitaker off the list according to the consensus.

The Hopkins loss was the only time I've ever seen Oscar convincingly beaten, and I have my doubts over the legitimacy of that knockout. This feat alone - given the guys he has faced - makes him an outstanding fighter, regardless of how many of those fights have a W next to them. Hopkins, Trinidad, Mosley, Mayweather, Whitaker, Chavez, Vargas, Quartey, Pacquiao... the only fighter I can think of that he missed was Tszyu. Hell he's been fighting the best since the get-go... What a ****ing champion, what a credit to the sport.

So according to you just simply fighting the best fighters even though you lose over half of them makes you an ATG?:rofl:patsch

I am sorry but you actually have to WIN some of them to be considered great.

How in the hell does De La Hoya have a better resume than Bernard Hopkins, these people are crazy

    Jones
    Trindad
    De La Hoya
    Taylor
    Wright
    Tarver
    Pavlik
    Calzaghe
    etc

it's not even ****ing close, and the guy does not even take tune ups anymore he just fights the best every fight, these people are nuts

I dont know what fight you were watching, you must be in the Oscar fan boy club, Oscar ran from the start of the tenth until the finish as well as the next two rounds, other than that Tito pressed Oscar in every round walking strait towards him while Oscar backed away to avoid a slug fest, this was quite funny considering he had never before done that in his career, it was even more funny that he taunted Mayweather about it saying " boxing fans don't want technical boxing they want to see a brawl, they want to see carnage, Mayweather never wanted to engage with me". Ohh the ****ing irony.

Did this guy miss the Shane Mosley fight, Shane took the guy to school, did this guy miss the Whitaker fight when Pernell landed almost 100 more punches, did this guy miss the Sturm fight when Felix wore his ass out, are you ****ing nuts
