He was an amazing boxer. Now he's a guy who has spent 17 months sitting around basically retired bitching about how much money he's worth.

You think he comes back and straight away is competitive with a top 20 P4P fighter two weights up from where he fought his career? Me, not so much.

winky would be a better P4P fighter than anyone kessler has fought bar calzaghe. whether he's a better fighter at SMW than mundine and andrade at this point in his career is very debateable.

he looked like absolute garbage up in weight against bernard hopkins, really shitty.

When a boxer in their late thirties doesn't fight for more than 12 months, that's retired in my book.

Most people look like garbage against Hopkins. Even Calzaghe didn't look good against Hopkins.

Too bad that's not the definition of being retired.

there was nothing different about calzaghe though, he looked rubbish because of his opponent. he was still quick, adaptable and working hard.

winky looked like he was moving in quicksand and his conditioning was shite compared to his work at lower weights.

What does it matter what the definition is? No fights for 17 months ain't conducive to being able toi take on a fight in top condition. Whether or not you had a press conference at the start of the 17 months and announced your retirement has no practical effect.

IMO Winky has bigger chances of winning against JC than against Kessler.

When Winky puts up the guard, JC will not be able to do **** as he doens't have the power. He could hardly pierce thru Jones' weak ass guard.

Winky - Kessler resembles Winky-Taylor in many ways, and on top of that I think Kessler is a heavier hitter than Taylor.

Here's what you're missing, retired fighters have a tendency not to keep themselves in shape. They assume they're not fighting anymore. They don't go to the gym, they don't eat right. Winky has been looking for fights. He's been in the gym and he's been training. Hell, he was training for a bout that was supposed to take place this month. He's in much better shape than a retired fighter, and is much more prepared to fight.

Co-sign. Kessler is bigger, longer, and stronger, and Winky doesn't have the workrate to bother him anymore.

Are you guys basing your opinions of Winky on his last fight with Hopkins?!

Kessler has nothing special. Winky jabs his head all night long to a UD.

Winky has no business fighting at anything above 160.

Kess should take it. Winky doesnt have the style to make him look good but it a very winnable match and a big US name. If he wants a fight with Taylor beating Winki convincingly would be the way to go.

If WInky beats Kessler, he'll get a shot at Calzaghe instantly you can guarentee it.
