This match-up does present some concerns for serious fight fans.

However, Oscar has held belts at 130, 135, 140 and 147 lbs, earlier in his career. If he can move up, why not down ?

His best weight was 147. He's 1-1 at 160, and probably should be 0-2.

Nothing special at 154 either. 147 is where he should be.

My concern is not with Oscar coming down. If he can make weight, why not ?

My concern is with Pac moving up. He has progressed naturally up to 135 and is perfectly comfortable there, winning a lightweight belt.

Normally, there would be nothing wrong with a lightweight moving to welter, but Pac has already moved up some 13 lbs to get where he is. He must be nearing his maximum useful weight. He'll be 25 North of his first title weight.

Oscar will be 17 lbs North of his.

Is that 8 lb difference going to be equalized by the six year age difference (almost 30 vs almost 36) ?

In any case, the situation will be no worse than when Oscar faced Bernard,
(Former 130 lber facingt a former 175 lber) and that fight was competitive for eight rounds.

The result of tomorrow night's bout is not a foregone conclusion.

    I would give Pac a 30-35 % chance here.

To those who say why are there people who "hate on Oscar", well there are various reasons. No one is criticizing his resume, which is awesome, we are just annoyed by his hypocrisy and actions as of late. He talks about facing the BIGGEST CHALLENGES out there and in his last fight he fought a 130 pounder in stevie forbes, now he is fighting a man who has only fought one at 135, and for his next fight there is talk about ricky hatton, a 140 pounder. I wouldn't mind him fighting them but at least he should cut the bull**** and not repeat over and over that he is fighting the toughest opponents out there. If he were pursuing the toughest competition it would be Antonio Margarito, Miguel Cotto, Paul Williams, ir at least some legit welter or lightwelter. As simple as that.

    Why would that be ?

Haven't you seen enough fights and watched the lead-up to enough fights, especially the mega-$$$$ variety, to know just about all of what's said is hype to sell tickets?

BHop's white-boy comments. Sam Peter's pre Vitali comments, all of that stuff !

You dont see Hatton as a legit LWWT ? :huh
The guy is the no1 140 lber out there.

I was suprised when this DLH/Pac match was made but Im glad, Im looking forward to it very much.... I cant imagine whats going to happen, this will be crazy.

I hope Oscar KOs him myself but this is probably the wrong thread to be sharing those kind of thoughts.

Get ****ing real and grow up you hater, if Floyd couldnt knock out Oscar Manny sure wont. and How is Manny a greater fighter, when you stack their resumes DLH fought all the best, while Mannys biggest wins are over a shot Barrera and a shot Morales.

Manny has been knocked out by lesser fighters, DLH lost to better fighters big ****ing difference.

Sorry man, I meant super welter (154). :think In essence I think Oscar should stop fighting the smaller guys if he is out there saying he will face the "biggest challenges". Guys like Forbes, Pac, and Hatton are not the "biggest challenges" out there for welterweight/superWW like Oscar. In my book he has been a great fighter but a huge HYPOCRITE as of late.

First I would like to thank you for being stupid, I never predicted a Manny kayo, I am HOPEFUL of one:deal
DLH literally lost all of his superfights.

Looking at their respective resumes, it's clear as a blue day that Manny has the better wins.

"Oscar will fight the the P4p no matter who the hell it is"

So Oscar should fight guys like Ivan Calderon, JMM, Israel Vazquez because they're among the top pound for pounders in boxing?

I see where you're coming from but the guy only did it for one fight (Forbes). Pacman is smaller, but it's an exciting fight. Sometimes you fight bigger guys, sometimes you ARE the bigger guy.

Ricky Hatton wouldn't be unreasonable either.

And how is a guy who fights Pacman and Ricky Hatton going to say that these are easy fights to take?

Of course Margarito or Cotto would be huge fights, but it's not like Oscar's fighting bums.

As for taking the biggest challenges, well boxers always talk in superlatives, it's talk. Fighting Pacman is a challenge, no matter who you are.
