Antonio Margarito vs. Tommy Hearns...

Hearns would knock out Margarito and bust him up easily. Hearns had such fast lethal hands as a welterweight and junior middleweight. Just awesome. The only guy to beat him at that weight was in peak prime great Sugar Ray Leonard.

huge fan of both,margarito is one of my favourite active fighters,hearns one of my all time faves,this fight would be an absolute war for the 6 rounds it lasts before tony is dropped then stopped on his feet.

 

There's a lot of people who underestimate Margarito's chin on this thread.
Has this guy ever been down, I don't remember ever seeing him on his ass.
No way Hearn's knocks him out in a few rounds.
Imo these two could of had a Trilogy of great fights with it going down to the wire in all three.

Look at Margarito resume and tell who on his resume would have prepared him for Hearns ? Margarito has not even faced anyone with the KO power of Hearns nor the speed or talent .. Two many people are grading margarito chin as the best based on Cotto and Cintron who are over rated as punchers . Hearns would have never lost to Santos twice , because he would have KOed him the first fight and he would have KOed Williams.

 

OK He got put down by Danny Perez, I didn't see that fight, Is he so far behind Hearns (who is one of my all time favourites).

Still would be a great competitive fight imo.

 

IMO yes .. Hearns not only had size , he had skill , speed and punching power that allowed him to move all the way up to Lt Heavy, even when he was past his prime, Margarito on the other hand has not shown that ability. Hearns also showed that he can go to the body of supper middles weights and hurt them with in , which showed he had a devastating body attract that was over looked because his one punch KO power . When margarito shows us he can beat up fighters that are bigger then himself , the same way he beats up smaller fighters , and then move up the middle weight devision and do the same, then we have ourselves a serious comparison.

until then, no chance in hell.

 

It would have possibly been one of many competitive fights Hearns had during his career but where it would have ranked among all of his other 62 fights who knows . The 80s was one hellava time for boxing :good

Pipino Cuevas was suppose to have a chin of iron -was able to walk through shots that most fighters couldn't.What happened when he met Hearns?
Margo has a good defense?Thats just a foolish statement.And Margo is a very slow starter-Hearns is a very fast starter.
Hearns could win this fight on just his jab/movement if he desired.Ther would be only 1 way for Margo to win this fight-pressure.And thats not good when you HAVE to come to Hearns.
