His grandfather was from Galway. Luke tried to represent Ireland at the Olympics but he couldn't find his grandfathers birth certificate[there was no record of his birth as he was from the travelling community]. His father dropped the e also for his own boxing career also. There name is Furey

I knew this young man since he was 8, I was a friend of his fathers and he used to bring his sons and nephews to most of the shows i saw him at.. John was a very tough man, i remember watching him fight at the old G-Mex centre in Manchester , on the undercard of Pat Barretts fight with danish champ Racheed Lawal, On that night John Fury was fighting future world heavyweight champion Henry Akinwande. In the 3rd round of a very even fight both men threw identical solid straight rights at each other , Akinwandes landed a bit more flush and Fury was on his back out cold.. John was doing very well up to that point .. John is a very nice man and is what British heavyweights are all about, die hard , old skool solid have gloves will travel guys who fought more for honour than cash... Tyson will do great in the pro's his height and reach is a massive plus, he is young and fresh, and is quite a likeable charismatic young man.. I have only seen him breifly but everyone on the circuit tells me very good things about the kid... he was a mere 3 ft 0 when i saw him for the first time, he is a giant now.. I wish him very good luck..

Yeah but he's quick, he's not a sluggish kind of flabby guy.

He just needs to get into the the pros, the conditioning will come with it.

Lets see how quick he is after 5 rounds with that tyre around his waste. I hope you're right about the conditioning.

A little bit of fat is not always bad for a heavies conditioning. Povetkin has the best stamina in the division and he is hardly carved out of stone! Also Valuev is a closer comparison, its very difficult when you are that tall to be ripped but Valuev has excellent stamina too.

But yeah, he could lose a bit and look toned somewhat. Even for his marketability :yep

I was a huge fan of Tyson Fury. Pretty much as soon as I saw him fight I decided I loved him.

I meant to bump this the day he beat Wlad, but I forgot. I decided I'd bump it when he defeated Wlad in the rematch.

But that's not going to happen.

I truly think he's something special. One of the best out there of all time.

Unfortunately those gifts twisted something in his mind and I doubt he'll ever return, at least as he was.
