I see Hearns outboxing Joe in the early goings with his superior footwork and reach advantages. Hearns would land flush as Calzaghe attempts to close the distance with his right hand.

JC is a sucker for the right and would hit the canvas early. However, Joe has a very good ability to recover quickly, and would be back in the fight in the later rounds. Joe would come on strong late and sweep the championship rounds, but it wouldn't be enough.

You haven't got a scooby doo. Where is the myth in it? Calzaghe has enough power to knockout Hearns, more so the earlier version who put more behind his punches and had a better stoppage record.

You are confusing Hearns for Hopkins or Jones. That is the problem. Jones and Hopkins are guys who win decisions. Hearns went for broke and had more power than either Jones or Hopkins. Jones used to have speed and a little power and some good knockouts, but do not kid yourself. A slapper like Calzaghe does not beat Hearns right hand. Hearns in shape beats Calzaghe by knockout. In the late 80s when Hearns was motivated he looked great and beat up Leonard and Hill and won two more titles. Late 1980s is when Hearns was at 168. Calzaghe is good but Hopkins and Jones are older now and really boring fighters. Hearns was electric and came to fight.
