I was at the 2nd fight at the MGM, I was rooting for Pavlik, but after 10 rounds, its was even... Pavlik won because he still had enough gas in the tank and finally started getting to Taylor in the last 2 rounds.

Its funny what getting knocked out can do to a figher.... after years of keeping his left hand low, after the 1st pavlik fight Taylor now keeps that left hand up and blocks a lot more shots than he used to.

Taylor lost to Pavlik due to workrate

I don't disagree with that, however my question was to the line "Taylor does best against Orthodox guys that stand in front of him".

I'm British but not a major Froch supporter to be honest, before tonight I didn't have a clue what he was like as he's mainly fought no names. I think he has a good chance against Taylor though as I think he's durable and has enough power to worry Taylor. Who is better skilled? Taylor, obviously! If it went to the scorecards i'd favour Taylor but I think Froch's capable of hurting him.

I'm not partisan at all - don't think of boxing like that.

I can see why your coming to that conclusion cause Froch defence is joke at times and Taylor's speed and fundamentals would cause early problems for Froch.

However, it would soon become clear when Froch begins leaping in with looping, unpredictable hooks, that Taylor has no answer.

It would be similar to Pascal but I think Taylor folds.

I thought the fight was closer than the scorecards suggested by the way. Pascal is top quality IMO.

After tonight Taylor should take it.And I'd still favor him but by a slight margin.I didn't like Froch getting tired in the end.

    I've seen him listed at 6' 0" and 6' 1". Either way.

Pascal took a lot of punishment tonight. I'm not sure Taylor would stand up to that kind of beating from a legit SMW, especially one with Froch's power. But he might not have to, he might just be able to jab and counter Froch to death and get a points win. Or he might end up crumpled on the canvas as he was in Pavlik I. It would be interesting to find out.

Agree - awful scorecards! I thought it was 2 or 3 rounds at best.

As I said, I'm sure Taylor would outbox Froch early on - Froch doesn't seem to give a **** anyway - but he would be too physical for Taylor to keep off for twelve.

Pavlik is one-dimensional whereas Froch comes from all angles, a little like Naseem Hamed.

I think there is no way that this would be a bad championship fight .. I wanna see it happen, I would probably favor Taylor 65/35 ... by no means do I think it would be a cakewalk for either fighter, I just can't believe after watching Froch fight tonight that some people think that he would walk all over Taylor.

The problem I see is that Taylor will not want to go to England and that HBO will ask for the bout to be in the USA. That alone might **** things up and we didn't even started talking about the money... Hope they do meet next. If it's the case, I take Taylor UD even if Froch chin really impressed me tonight.

I can see it either way, and I think it would be a compelling fight, for sure. I respect Taylor, he has a lot of ability and you're right, he made excellent adjustments from Pavlik I to Pavlik II. I kind of lean to what Bonavena is saying and think Taylor might not hold up for 12, but then Froch wasn't fresh as a daisy at the end of tonight's fight, either. Although this was a scorching fight and not your everyday contest.

I think Pascal may have made Froch look a little worse than he actually is, but I haven't seen Froch enough to know if that's true. Pascal took some hard shots and just kept coming and answering as much as he could (which was a lot) and Froch just couldn't take him out.

Froch is unorthodox and I could see him hurting Taylor. Then again, Froch could get jabbed and 1-2'd for 12 rounds, especially if he holds his left like that all night against someone as athletic as Taylor is.

Let's hope that the fight gets made and we all get to find out how things would play out. :thumbsup

Its common knowledge that Taylors ppl are avoiding Froch. Ask yourself why before you get too confident about Taylor winning.

If Taylor boxes then he should win he's faster, has much better skills, and is better conditioned. Froch though has his Iron chin and does have good power, plus Taylors chin is not great.

Froch aint the quickest, sure, but i think its more that he prefers to fight at a slow pace rather than he is actually slow, if you understand what im trying to say. I dont rate Taylor. The two wins over BHOP were fortunate decisions, and as a result ofhopkins being up against a guy that was too similar in style to himself. **** knows how BHOP got beat by a poor imitation of himself, but like i said, hopkins can count himself unlucky the judges didnt give him at least one of the fights.

Taylor got beat twice by pavlik, a guy who has decent power, chin and a big heart but is a bit one-dimensional and really is nothing special. Id reckon Froch hits harder, has a better chin and a more akward style to deal with than Pavlik, while probably being a bit more open defensively. Easy win for Froch.

Noway is this an easy fight for Froch he doesn't have good stamina and was blowing hard after 3 rounds tonight. Taylor was able to keep up a decent pace against Lacy and you can throw a right hand with your eyes closed and your guaranteed to hit Froch flush. If Taylor boxes him and doesn't get carried away trying to knock Froch out then it should be a win for Taylor. Also Pavlik beats opponents by wearing them down and throwing alot of punches plus he is taller than most of his opponents Froch has none of these.
