I've never seen Oscar like that. He literally gave up in the later rounds.

It was his last fight. Why didn't he put it all out there and go out on his shield???

lets be fair now everyone around him was saying "quit quit quit quit" for 2 rounds already and it was only the end of the 8th. He hadn't won a round, and took such a massive beating in the 7th thats everyone scored it a 10-8 round

Add to that his poor stamina, the welt on his eye, and PAcquiao's relentless style.

Take nothing away from Pac but possibly the WW limit. He hadn't weighed in that light in like 12 years they said.

He must have thrown no more than 50 punches over the last few rounds.

Oscar didn't quit. The corner stopped the fight. You guys need to first get your facts straight.

Second... what did you want Oscar to do? He had nothing left in him, he couldn't even fire a shot back. It was over. Did you want him to turn back to clock to over a decade ago when he was #1 pd 4 pd? Maybe you guys should start looking at the reality of the fight instead of pretending like Oscar's height was some impossible wall to overcome.

No doubt. I just thought Oscar had more pride than that.

I guess long term, it's better for his health that he took a seat.

Oscar never once told them to stop the fight. They were telling him the round before that they would stop it if he didn't throw punches. He went out and tried to get something going, but nothing was there. Then, the corner stopped the fight after he first was telling him that he was fine in the corner. Oscar finally just stopped arguing with them, and they went ahead and stopped it. That isn't quitting. What did you want him to do? Run across the ring and sucker punch Pac? His corner, the doctor, and the ref were in the corner talking about stopping the fight.

If the fight went on, the ref would have called it off within the first thirty seconds of round nine anyways. What's the point of taking unnecessary damage?
