I don't see why England = bent results. There are worse places to fight than England when it goes to the cards. If the fight was really tight then you'd have to favour Pac on points by nipping the last couple of rounds and just being ever so slightly stronger at the end of the fight. Even so, what a cracking match up, win, lose or draw.
This would be a contender for fight of the year. Hatton can impose his will on ANY fighter, including PBF and make them fight his fight. ie, a tear-up. Pac is good at tear ups and so is Hatton. Even with home advantage i still see Pacman winning via a late stoppage or 5 point margin UD. I just hope the English fans dont fcuking boo him. Im a proud brit but i hate it when our fans boo other people, especially world class fighters like pacman who is a really nice guy. Didnt mind too much with Mayweather coz he is a dick.
If you want to dismiss the Mayweather's left hook then I'm ok with that because Mayweather was a superior fighter and the p4p best. You can't however dismiss Lazcano's ability to land his left that clearly had Hatton in trouble because he was an inferior fighter that was picked to make Hatton look good in front of a huge home crowd after suffering a desvastating defeat.
You're missing the point. Just because Mayweather can, doesn't mean everyone can. Hatton dragged Mayweather into a brawl which we know Mayweather doesn't do. It was Mayweathers superior strength, size and timing that allowed him to win but as Mayweather admitted himself, it wasn't a comfortable fight and didn't go to plan. I have to confess that after that fight I thought Hatton's best days were behind him. However, let's not forget the result was still a shut-out and Lazcano is a very big Light Welterweight so still not a bad performance by any means but it did give me concerns he was getting hit too much. Maybe he felt the punches and they didn't bother him so why move out the way?! Clinching is an effective strategy, however it didn't work for Malignaggi who was hugging Hatton all evening. I think both fighters are strong, have a fighting spirit rather than a winning strategy and it will be one awesome fight, one I'll pay to see ringside. I'll have a bucket ready to catch the teeth as they get sprayed into the crowd :happy
****, Hatton vs Pac would be amazing. Cant see any way that Hatton wins, but this would be a great tear up, a genuine superfight. Lets hope Floyd can at least wait for this to happen and then fight Pac (inevitable winner), who achievements wise will have been mirroring him in beating DLH then Hatton. Mayweather vs Pac, providing Pac beats Hatton would be massive. You'd never have even thought it possible a year or two ago.
Given Mayweather's relunctance to fight Margarito, Cotto or Williams you have to question whether he was really #2 P4P considering Pac's latest efforts. Beating a shot Oscar though isn't credible and he would need to beat a genuine Welter to be given GODlike status. Even so, he's an incredible fighter and do hope he comes to the UK to fight Hatton at Wembley.
Pac would murder Hatton.........i said this prior to the fight, Hattons defense is not very good at all, nah...you know what, i wont even explain this, because i'm 99% sure this fight will happen and like i said before Pac will put that boy to sleep so enjoy your 4-6months of beleiving Hatton would beat Pac, because that little dream of yours will turn into a Nightmare
I think Manny would score an 11th or 12th round TKO, but I honestly think we'd see a highly competitive match, with Ricky coming out of the fight with alot of credit. I don't think Floyd Snr will let him wrestle, Ricky is a supremely talented boxer. His biggest downfall was that he discovered a rough-house grappling formula that worked, and stuck with it, starting at Zoo, and ending in a check-hook. If he comes out even slightly improved or even at the same level as the Paulie fight, it will be a really close encounter, but I do think even a tip-top Hatton will eventually be beaten to the punch too many times by Manny.
Sorry son. Pacquiao will harpoon Hatton. Manny is a ****ing beast who has power and speed. He throws punches in bunches from all angles and I think he takes Hatton out within ten. I have nothing against Ricky Hatton but he will get destroyed.
Hatton will have his moments in a great fight but I see him finally getting stopped on cuts at around the 6th-7th round, not K.O'd, but hurt enough to pull him out and let him keep some dignity before Pac truly outclasses him. Would not be surprised if Hatton reverts to his bullying style, might be the only way to keep Pacman off of him, though you can never count Pac out for anything after what he did last night. If people criticise him I don't care, I know for a fact most people on here scoffed at the notion of a Pac stoppage of DLH, and most people thought DLH would just be too big and powerful, even weight drained. I thought DLH would win but hoped Pacman would. This is good for boxing and people should give Manny credit. And Monstar, you rate Berto so highly I can't really take much notice of anything you say no doubt Hatton is strong, the king of 140, has a good tactician in his corner, and would give a good fight. No doubt Pacman would probably win, but then again DLH was heavily favoured last night. You can never tell in boxing, and Hatton is too good to completely rule out. He will also throw back, something DLH couldn't do, and whilst Pac was big last night, no doubt Hatton would be bigger and stronger on fight night, everyone knows how big he comes in even at 140.
Hatton would use his feet as well - the lack of footwork from Hoya was shocking. He wouldn't just stand there and allow Pac to grab the centre of the ring and make it his fight - HE would be the one dictating terms. Pac would most probably use different tactics against Hatton, revert back to his more usual style rather than the hit and don't be hit - because Roach respected Oscar's power. Not sure they feel that way about Ricky.
