Go back in time to a few weeks ago, and you'll find endless material for 'Pacquiao will never be able to beat De La Hoya'. Some people were even disgusted and talked about boycotting the fight, because they anticipated such an easy night for De La Hoya. Go back in time a little more and you'll find a very similar case for Pavlik/Hopkins. Dive years and years into the past and you'll find a great deal of the media scoffing at the idea that a young, loud-mouth fighter named Cassius Clay would ever pose any kind of threat to a monster like Liston. I wonder how many people gave a brutish LaMotta any kind of real chance against a slick and explosive Sugar Ray Robinson? The list goes on. The point?

'Never' is not a word to be used lightly when talking about this sport.

Does Pac have weaknesses that Mayweather can exploit? Definitely. Does that mean that Mayweather will automatically win? Of course not. Mayweather has his own problems in this matchup -- Pacman's combination of speed and power is enough in itself to be troubling. Combine that with the stamina to go all 12, relentless aggression, Roach's coaching and a lot of experience against tough fighters and you have a real threat.

The way I see it is Zab Judah another fast south paw was able to get things going early with Floyd for the first four or five rounds, Manny will get off to that kind of start and if he has any sucess the way that Judah was able to those first four or five rounds will have put enough damage on Mayweather to keep Manny in the fight and possibly allow Manny to win down the streach.

... I didn't like the idea of Pac v DLH because DLH was not a serious threat to Pac ... DLH was busted up by Stevie Forbes and couldn't handle and light hander boxer ... his orbital bone was broken in that fight. I knew that Pac was too fast for DLH and his hand speed would be the desciding factor.

There is only one fight that can decide this!

But when Mayweather comes back and fights hatton...

Then it is clear who are the number 1.

No one is unbeatable...Look at the Tyson Douglas fight. The reason why Douglas won was beacuse he dedicated that fight to his dead mother who past away earlier that year. I remember when Douglas was training for that fight he was running and solid icicles were freezing onto his head....

I can easily accept your point about Mayweather winning. But atleast acknowledge that Pac can now be competitive with PBF. You don't have to be so defensive about it.

Floyd beat Oscar ... he wasn't as up close and personal but thats not his style ... and like I said before styles make fights.

Floyd came with a more technical approach while Pacquiao used his physical attributes to his advantage ... two different ways, two different fighters, but the same result over a simular opponent.

Roy Jones was never fundamentally sound ... he kept his left hand down ... he wasn't defensive minded ... he just never took big risks ... he was normally faster than his opponents and overwhelmed them ... never to the point where he used a stiff jab to set up his offense and he never used good fundamental movments ... he mainly depended on his speed and fast twitch reflexes.
