He should retire absolutely. Regardless of what most people on this forum think Oscar was good for boxing and will be missed.
And a sad end it is. He ain't gonna fight after this even if he wants it,to be embarrassed at this stage in this way.......it just shows you to stop.
There surely cant be a farewell fight, Who would pay to see that? It would be a fight purely to line the pockets of ODLH and nothing else, not for glory not for titles or rankings etc purely to line somebodys pockets. Make no mistake at this moment in time, Manny Pacquiao sits pretty at the top of the P4P rankings.
My thoughts exactly, this fight right here should have been his crowning moment in boxing.. Unfortunately for Oscar he bit off more than he could chew!
A fitting end for the serial ducker. He deserved to get his ass beaten into submission for the crap he pulled in ducking Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright.
If this is all Oscar can do then he should retire. No reason to take more beatings. I think he can stil be succesful at 154 though. One last run there wouldn't hurt.
atsch Yes - His resume with more former or current worl title holders will forever be slighted with his constant ducking. Vernon Forrest lost to Rocardo Mayorga and Sergio Mora fer chrissakes, he had two goes at Mosley and EPO aside - Didn't get the nod. I had my share of Oscar dislike, but I finally shut my mouth for good with the Vargas fight. He has my respect and sympathy for the way his career has ended. He has grounds to point at Nacho's now disastrous plan of getting down to 147 and training at that weight - His muscle looked wasted as did he. He could probably go up and win a 154 title for the hell of it - Just probably not go for Paul Williams!
He's better off retired. Though the Golden Boy era is hardly over, Golden Boy promotions still to bring more megafights in the future. :deal
