Pacquiao completely outclassing and hammering de la hoya and forcing a stoppage win or ray leonard coming back to fight hagler and winning a close SD.

This is a tough one, it really depends on what type of fight it was

Pacquiao was able to keep the fight one sided against a guy much bigger and decorated than him.

Leonard on the other hand was in the ring with a man who was the top-dog of the middleweight division at the time.

I would give it to Leonard for the fact that he was in a more competitive fight

Ray Leonard came out of retirement to fight at a weight he had never fought at before, and after a 3 year lay off as well as no warm up fights against the dominant Middleweight Champion Marvellous Marvin Hagler.
In comparison too Pac Man beating a past his prime Dela Hoya who recently struggled with a small Steve Forbes! In the words of John McEnroe "You cannot be serious!"

I think Leonard's was better. Not to insult Pacman, that was impressive. But Marvin was still the champion when Ray fought him in 1987, and Ray was coming off a 3 year retirement. Oscar really has not looked good in awhile, and I think Oscar was overrated in recent years.

This isn't a very apt comparison. I reject the premise of this poll as the circumstances are entirely different.

Manny could never in a millions years look better than he did. However Leonards victory was more impressive, due to him fighting a dominant near prime middlewieght after a 3 year lay off. He truly showed everything in that fight. Speed, chin, technique and heart. The fight could have gone either way.

Leonard came out of a long retirement to fight the best fighter in the MW division, who still had a lot left in the tank, and was better than DLH to start with. Therefore I give him the nod.

leonard was not fighting for three years but he was secretly training. he also controlled a lot of factors in the fight such as the number of rounds they would compete at, the ring, etc.

hagler wasn't also at his prime when they fight.

Pac win was more shocking. The fight was apparently a circus and just shouldnt happen. Hagler was chasing leonard for years and everyone wanted it...though Hagler was favourite too. Pac was alot more dominant but Hagler much closer to prime.

Good Lord! Can we ****ing come to our senses here? :patsch

Leonard fought Hagler, and although I scored it for Hagler, had to take real punches, dodge real bombs, and fight a guy who he or no one else could never really hurt. Sugar Ray was the one who was supposedly washed up and shot. People thought Sugar Ray was damn near finna die in the ring. His performance, although I do not agree with the decision, was legendary, based on the fact that he was required to do all these things against a certified monster for 15 rounds!

Pacman fought Oscar de la ****ing Hoya. :-(

For it really to be a closer comparison pac would have had to have fought margarito or williams or cotto pre-margo.
