Equally shot and both should retire for good.

jones put up a better fight because cals was landing slaps. but jones is still more shot than dlh. the roy jones that fought tarver at the third time is more shot than the dlh that dominated forbes.

I think Oscar is more shot. Although both guys sort of lost the same way. Could not pull the trigger, but I tell you one thing, If either guy faces someone as fast as them they look ok again. Problem is Roy and Oscar were never warriors like Hearns and Hagler.. So what have they really accomplished?

Both are equally shot, but in my view Jones did put up a BETTER (it still sucked) performance against Calzaghe than DLH againts Pac. Jones's performance was bad but Oscar's much much worse. At least Jones did not quit and was even able to knock down Joe in the 1st round.

More of the same crap from Pugilist64 ,, such a bias moron.

Roy Jones had been brutally KO'd and beaten bad by the last real opponents he had faced..

Roy Jones always relied on his natural physical ability and was therefor a terrible fighter once it disappeared ( years ago )

De La Hoya is only about 6 months out of beating Forbes 119-109 (forbes has good skill ) and just over a year after DLH fought a very close , SD fight against the P4P best fighter in the world.

Pugilist , you have no reason for this argument other than the fact that you cannot remove your mouth from Calzaghes nuts. Don't be angry because Pacman proved he is in fact the greatest fighter of this era, not Calzaghe. Funny thing was, Roy Jones was more shot but not even beat as badly , and was able to Floor Calzaghe

The fact that Jones put up more of a fight does not mean anything either ... all that means is that Pacman put up that much better of a performance and actually was able to make Oscar quit.

the reason jones was able to fight was because calzaghe was always right there in his face and while landing non-stop punches, they were not power-punches.
pac on the other hand was too elusive for dlh, he wouldn't even l;et dlh get near him and frustrates him everytime he makes him miss. his offense was also exceptionally sound and brutal that night. the same oscar would have beaten steve forbes all over again last night. the same forbes that gave trouble to andre berto

I agree. Oscar was terrible. Roy never quit and landed some decent shots. I think a lot of people are being hard on Roy cause they were desperate for JC to lose. Roy didn`t quit Oscar did.

i'd say dlh is not that shot he's past his prime plus the fact that he fought manny weight drained thats why he looked more shot than rjj, what im so curious about is why nacho let dlh to be 145 when clearly it will give dlh more trouble.

THAT version of Oscar would've gone the distance with Mayorga. He was really bad. But Jones was more shot.

Berto beat Forbes more decisively than Oscar did.

I think they realized that Power would not be DLH's Problem vs Pacman, but it would be DLH's Speed. I think they had him get so low so that he would be faster and maybe actually able to catch pacman. I bet the figured a lighter DLH would still have the power to KO pacman... and I bet he did have the power... but he just couldn't hit pacman, at least without taking punishment in return.
