Anyone else really impressed with Carl Froch on Saturday? Could he be the man @ 168?

I was pleased with the fight, it was exciting and seems to have really boosted Froch further than a quick KO would have. But let's get some perspective on Mr. Pascal, he has not fought a live body prior to this. He looked reasonable, but its not that great of a win. I was disapointed with some things with Froch. His hands and feet are as slow as ever, and combined with low hands it makes him really easy to hit.

I think he's an underdog going in against Bute or Taylor based on that, considering they share the speed of Pascal that gave Froch problems, but are superior fighters overall. A great fight would be Andrade, that would be a war. I don't think we need to see him in the ring with Kessler or Calzaghe yet.

although it was a really entertaining fight i think it just proved that froch isnt as good as the big boys eg calzaghe ,kessler, even bute.
pascal did well and a think may get another shot at a title one day.
froch, proved his chin but i was expecting more.

i'd forgotten how slow he was. he looked like a sloth at times in there. matched carefully i think he could have a decent reign but if taylor takes up his spot as the #1 challenger for the WBC title then i expect it to be over come april. if taylor fights a careful fight and uses his speed against froch he can come away with an easy decision win.

too slow, too open and far too much bravado.

calzaghe and kessler would win every second of every minute of every round against him.

andrade-froch would be an amazing fight.

Froch would KO the hype job Pavik thats is just fact. He would take out Taylor late on also, when Taylor is has used up all he has. I think a Kessler fight would be more like the pascal fight. I think they would both abandon their boxing skills and go swinging at each other. I belive Froch could be the man yes. I see Calzaghe beating him quite comfortably though on sheer workrate.

why? kessler wouldn't have to. with frochs non existent guard and horrible speed and reflexes kessler can just work behind the jab and pummel froch with straight shots at will. kessler would put a clinic on.

secondly, where was froch's amazing power on saturday? the bloke has pop but some people round here talk him up like he's the hardest hitter between 160 and 175. imo he's possibly the most overrated puncher around.

No evidence he hits harder than Kessler at all so far. Kessler has a few devastating KO's under his belt, even though he's more of a solid puncher than a 1 punch KO artist.

Froch was expected to KO that guy, a guy that has been hurt before.

I put it down more to the fact Pascal showed he had a warriors spirit, and would not go down, and not a fact that Froch does not punch hard.

So i suppose, if you don't knock somebody out, you do not have a good punch then ??

    looked strong chinned to me.
note i'm not claiming froch to be better than kessler, just slightly more heavy-handed i reckon. not much in it .

Either way Kessler's power is likely to be way more effective than any Froch has even if its slightly less - which hasn't been shown yet.

Kessler punches a lot straight and faster and his timing is superior.

froch can punch, don't get me wrong. but i think his power is getting a little overhyped. he needs to prove it on a higher level now to justify the hype, something he didn't do on saturday.

if kessler or pavlik had been given that amount of punching chances against an opponent i'm fairly confident they would have sealed the deal.

yeah kessler would be a huge challenge, he'd probably come up well short. don't think kessler would knock him out though. wide decision.
love to see the fight though, preferably like to see him fight andrade first though, then taylor, then kessler, if he made it that far.

Andrade would be fantastic. Neither can defend for ****. Both are quite slow and heavy handed with excellent chins.

I don't know whether the slightly better skill of Froch or the higher activity of Andrade wins the day.

I dont see Froch beating Kessler, Taylor or Bute. That was a fun fight but both Froch and Pascal are limited fighters. AT 26, i even feel that Pascal's career might be greater.
