Anyone else really impressed with Carl Froch on Saturday? Could he be the man @ 168?

I thought Froch looked clumsy and lacked basic footwork. Yeah his chin seemed ok but I don't see much more than that. Surely if he was that good he would have fought some better opponents by the age of 31?

Yeah, and now why don't you tell me about all the Calzaghe's the rest of the division have faced?

The only fighter that has done more is Taylor, and he himself has only beat Lacy at this weight and is still very much an unproven quantity in that respect.

This is why its quite reasonable for everybody to consider Kessler the main man considering his competitive fight with Calzaghe, and his domination over opponents.

It was a competitive fight up until about round 9 but he still wasn't outclassed, just beaten by a more expirienced fighter.

With regards to Froch - Kessler I don't think Froch is ready yet, maybe after fighting and beating Bute or Taylor he should call out Kessler, but he should get a bit more expirience at the top level.

That's my point, smart ass. They are all largely unproven (including both Froch, and Kessler), as you say, so it's hard to say for sure who would beat who. You never know, Froch might exploit a ***** in Kessler's armour that is yet to be exposed. The way people speak is as if the fight has little credibility at all, I think thats unfair on WBC champ Froch.

Just to reiterate though, I would have Kessler a clear favourite in my books.

    Bunce picked Froch.:nut

Let's be clear, some of us on here forgot more about how to pick a boxing match than Bunce ever knew. He's great for his contacts, his enthusiasm etc, but he don't know **** about the technical aspects of the sport. Him and Mcguigan are as clueless as each other, I don't know which one is more ****ing stupid.

Not impresseed with Froch. He still looked slower than ****, and he still has massive defensive holes that would be exploited by a slightly superior fighter to Pascal. If anything, the fight lowered my esteem of Froch. Before, I thought he was probably 5th best in the weight class (after Kessler, Taylor, Bute and Inkin); now, I think he'd get beaten by guys like Bika, Tsypko and Green and possibly even Andrade as well. He showed he has a good chin and good stamina, but that's about it.
