That has to happen. It is the only way Amir can exorcise the ghost of that defeat. He knows it and has mentioned a rematch.
picking Prescott over two proven championship class fighters after watching him throw three punches is pathetic and noobish!
It's called an opinion, Murray defensive skills are horrible, gets hit often, so i think Prescott would ko him out.
Prescott has only ever done one thing in knocking Khan out and should not be considered as a viable opponent for the likes of Thaxton and Murray etc...Khan's defence was so non existent that it could have been anyone knocking him out that night. The 'new' Amir would show very differently imo.
do people think arthur will be a harder fight at lightweight than murray or thaxton? any of those guys in with khan will be a good competitive fight imo. i wouldn't be suprised if arthur - khan does happen in the next year.
I think people are getting ahead of themselves here with Prescott, he won a blow out fight, he caught Khan cold, this still doesnt mean he could step in the ropes with 2 proven good fighters in Thaxton & Murray. We've not seen enough oF Prescott to know how good he is.
Yeh all prescott really done was believe he could win which is something no other khan opponent has done and ko a guy with a terrible chin, prescott v thaxton or murray would be a different fight altogether.
Why thank you jeffro , damn decent of you. :smooch I noticed someone else asked you this in as many words anyway but I'll ask again Do you think Arthur's still got it ? I wouldn't fancy Khan to hold a shot form Alex but he looked horrible in his last fight and I do wonder if he could actually connect. ( And I would consider myself an AAA fan )
Prescott is not really a boxer but more of a banger, after a few rounds when he has punched him self out a bit he loses that speed and sting to his punches as he did vs Richard Abril where he went the distance and won on SD. All Richard did was block Prescott's bangers in the first 2 rounds and moved around the ring after that Prescott looked average. Fighters like Prescott who are not World class try their luck and have a go because they got nothing to lose, he caught Khan cold and won the lotto simple, if Khan had any brains in that fight he would had a look at him for 1 or 2 rounds before rushing in. But you know in a way Khan needed a loss like that in order for him to understand he needs to improve his around game to become a world champion but the hype was too much for him to take on board that this was the case. Now I feel Roach is the right guy who will guide Khan to a world title and make him a real name in world boxing.
This **** never ends, does it? If Khan were to be knocked out by the worst fighter in the whole world, people would still back him to be a "world" champ. Prescott would knock Khan out 10 times out of 10. So would any half decent, fresh lightweight with a reasonable punch. All Roach is doing is dressing up a gifted yet seriously flawed fighter to look like the real deal. He'll have a few laughably easy fights against smaller, older, limited fighters, then because of the hype and backing he'll get a big money fight against a real opponent. He'll get starched real quick and the cycle will be repeated. If Freddie Roach is the man to guide Khan to the top, then why hasn't he trained him from the start? Amir needs to be aiming to dominate the British scene if he wants to prove he is for real. Until then he's career is just a joke.
What exactlty has John Murray proven? that he struggles with Hamidi? don't make me laugh, faced more tomato cans than Amir Khan, yet is next big thing.
Maybe, but at least his chin hasn't exploded into a million pieces whilst facing less than stellar opponents. Anyway, Khan still gets talked about more than Murray, so the point isn't valid.
