I posted before the Oscar fight that if Pacquiao beats Oscar, Hatton, and Floyd he'd go down as top 3 ATG in my book.

    He's finished Oscar...

    He'd be a 2-1 favorite vs hatton most likely...And a 2-1 underdog vs floyd.

Both fights are almost guaranteed to happen assuming he keeps winning.

    Thoughts?

As well as luck, in how many named/quality opponents are out there for you to fight.

You can be the most gifted boxer ever, but if you get stuck in an era/generation with mediocre opposition during your career, you will never achieve ATG status.

I agree but DAMN! PAC has make quite the impact since making his way statside to fight under Roach. I mean just look at what the man has done in such a short period of time.

    A true phenom.

His relationship with Roach reminds me of Tyson/Rooney or Tyson/D'Amato.

Currently, Pac has to be top 75.

If he beats Hatton, he have to go to top 50.

Beating Mayweather would put him in the top 25 where it's just a matter of preference.

He'd be top 20 in my book with Hatton and Mayweather victories.

I disagree with luck..We're talking about top 10 in history here. Look at the legends that are perennially there..they all made their luck.

Prime example is Floyd. He can get there if he wanted..Cotto, Margo, PW and PAC.. the x factor here is how one challenges himself against the best..thats a mark of true greatness..

no it was not. i think there was talk just after pac defeated marquez, what if pac beats hatton, hoya and floyd before he retires. some are even saying that he would be the GOAT because they knew that it would be impossible for pac to fight hatton, nevermind floyd and hoya. now fast-forward to the present, the fight with hoya happened and pac stopped him. two almost impossible scenarios have already happened if we think of it just a "few" months ago.
