Last chance saloon for Alex really. Been saying for ages he needed to move up a weight, so if true, excellent. Only time will tell if his last few performances have been down to being weight drained or simply a bit shot. Hopefully it is the former, and he thrives at lightweight. If he does, Arthur vs Khan is a sensible one for next year. The loser would very much be on the way out of 'top level' boxing i suspect.

Well 2009 we will see what Khan can really do, Roach will tell Frank that Khan needs to face better class of fighters, and I am sure he will. 2009 will make or break Khan, i think it will make him as Roach is a world class trainer he will change Khan's style to help him protect his GLASS CHIN, and become a better fighter with a better defence.
Because he is a fantastic boxer who is hugely under-rated. He's gone stale and may have peaked but in his prime you'd seldom see a more correct and tidy boxer. His body punching too was a thing of beauty. The five rounds with Gomez were quite possibly the most brutal i've ever witnessed. Khan wouldn't have got out of round one under that kind of onslaught. Alex seems to rub a lot of people up the wrong way but i've always seen something special in his performances. I was very shocked Cook beat him and tbh haven't seen the fight so can't comment but back in his heyday Arthur was fabulous. When people are getting so excited about Paul Appleby and Truscott coming through take a look at some videos of a young Alex going to work. Different class.
I spoke to Gomez properly about his sparring with Khan and he did say Khan has massively improved since there fight.
He did beat him ,but it was close and cook knows that that is why he wont give him a rematch.At the end of the day Cook wasent a mandatory so he should have given it.
That was a brutal night alright, I know Alex camer back after it but I wonder hopw much of himself he left in the ring that night. That truly was the type of fight that makes a fighter an old man.
I think Khan will have too much for Arthur if they are to fight. Will Khan have the bottle for a rematch with Prescott though??? He had a rematch with Kindelan I suppose.
