For the first time in my life I had to go against Oscar because i'm a big fan of both Oscar and Manny, I can only chose one. Although I was rooting for Pacquiao, I just couldn't watch Oscar getting man handle like that. Getting trapped in the corner with no where to hide and fighting for his life. Even he didn't look that bad when the much bigger Vargas did it to him.

It was only bad because he wasn't returning fire. It just looked like he had nothing left, he conceded defeat before he stepped into the ring. Upsetting to see someone who was once so brilliant, reduced to a mere target in the corner.

Was a shame, but Oscars great fights are what he will be remembered for, you can't keep fighting forever.

Sure, but not as bad as watching someone beat on a man with no arms. Oscar could have, and should have, thrown some return fire. You could count the number of times he tried to sincerely inflict damage on Pacquiao over the course of 8 full rounds on 1 hand. That's not sad, it's pathetic.

It's one of those moment where you could feel the tears in your eyes watching it. Seeing a great fighter like Oscar Dela Hoya getting trapped in the corner like that and not firing back is just sad. He was so scared of Pacquiao when he was in the corner that every flinch Pacquiao made he would tried to cover up with his glove...and what was sad is that he couldn't do anything back. The guesture on his face and his body movement was, "Oh please don't hurt me". It was as if he was a little kid again and his dad had him trapped in the corner and was beating on him.

I beg to disagree that he is a great fighter. He's a good fighter, but not great. He has 0-6 losses in his last fights. He got some gift wins in some controversial fights.
He's way too overrated. He handpicked his opponents. He's more of businessman.

Oscar is a great fighter...win or lose, good or bad timing, he fought them all. The main point in boxing to the fans is getting in the ring with so and so. There is nobody currently active with the resume that will come close to Dela Hoya with the exception of Holyfield. When he was younger he tried to give us the most meaningful fight. That's why he's making so much $$$$$ with every fight. Oscar will always be remember as one of the great.

Please. He got some robberies in even bigger fights, too. Funny how you omitted that.

What you're saying is: a good (only good) fighter beat Whitaker, Quartey, Vargas, Chavez, Hernandez, Gonzalez, Mayorga, Sturm etc., and took Mayweather and Mosley to split decisions, was beating Hopkins before a liver shot, and took Trinidad to a MD? That's a fantastic effort by a "good" fighter!

I'd say this: Oscar De La Hoya is a great fighter who beat Felix Trinidad, Shane Mosley, Fernando Vargas, Julio Cesar Chavez among many others, arguably beat Whitaker and Quartey and took Mayweather to a SD, and was beating Hopkins prior to a liver shot. "Good" fighters don't have by FAR the best resume of the generation, and possibly the one before.

NO,,It was great to see him in the corner getting a one sided ass beating, his corner should pushed him to keep it up, maybe he will then regreat charging people $55 for a BS fight, he didn't even come with a heart, that kind of money unless your mayweather, a heart is a given,,,,,,NO, he deserved every shot thrown, alot more that wern't able to because he QUIT like a *****

:lol::lol:Dela Hoya shouldn't have taken this fight because it was obvious he was going to knock Manny out because he was the much bigger guy. For some reason the tide just turned. If you look it that way or if you're a real Hoya hater than it was good. But with all due respect to Hoya for what he did to the sport in his younger day, it was very sad to see him get beat up like that.

That last 10secs in round 8 where he was fighting for dear life trying not to go down was very sad. He was so scared that the whole world would see him go down and he was doing everything to stay up. The thing was that he was so clumsy looking doing it trying to move back and forth on the rope trying to stay up. One thing that was sad in round 7 was when Pac first got him in the corner. Pac jumped on him for a few seconds and when he came out of there he had to kind of hold the rope to stay steady. I was like,"Oh ****, this aint looking good for Oscar".

Manny was just too much for Oscar at 35 years old and 147 pounds, but I agree it bothered me seeing him get beaten so badly like he did. I was rooting for Manny as well and predicted he would win but I didnt think it would be so one sided and brutal. I have great respect for Oscar and wish him the best and hopefully no permanent damage done.
