"Andrzej Gmitruk did some padwork with Cunningham (when he was in Poland for the 'Diablo' fight) and we know he doesn't punch hard. Even watching his fights one can notice that Cunningham is a boxer, not a puncher. This is what we know. But what are we going to see in the ring? We'll just have to wait and see." - Tomasz Adamek

i have only seen the cunningham-huck match so i cant really say i know much about the champ.

but from what i've seen of adamek which is most of his recent fights, i can say that adamek has a good chance to take the belt.

it's a 50/50 fight in my mind but i suppose that might change if i saw more cunningham fights.

I think it's safe to say Adamek is the heavier handed of the two. One viewing of each is enough.

    So Cunningham doesn't "punch hard."
    So what?
This is a big revelation? A quick glance at his record can tell you that.
But the Adamek camp is missing the point - it's not Cunningham's KO percentage that's important - rather it's his technically proficient offense along with his high punchrate and sound defense that'll win the IBF title on Thursday.
I can see Adamek standing there thinking to himself, "Hey, I was right, this guy doesn't punch very hard," as Cunningham banks round after round on the cards.

    Dawson didn't punch hard either.

I don't think that can be said. Dawson clearly puts his body weight behind his shots most of the time, unlike Cunningham. I understand your point, however. Cunningham ain't Dawson though.

He is not him but he is like him - a slick boxer with less talent on offense but quite a bit more talent on defense. If defensively gifted and quick footed fighters confuse Adamek's offense, he better have a plan B for this fight. Plan B was clearly missing against Dawson. By saying that Cunni doesn't have power and impliying that this is the reason Adamek will win, completly misses the way in which Steve usually wins his fights. Adamek shouldn't be concerned about Cunnigham's power, but should be seriously worried about landing combination punches of his own.

Cunningham has the advantage, and when he sits down on his shots he hits plenty hard. I think he wins this in impressive fashion, probably by wide decision, but a late ko wouldn't surprise me.

Good post. Cunningham is a defensive/nervous fighter, although I will that his defense isn't especially good. If Tomek collapses all the way on Steve he won't have trouble finding him. But he has to be very aggressive.

No chance of a KO for Cunningham here. Sorry, but when you consider Steve's below average power for a cruiser and Adamek's rock hard chin, a KO is out of the question. TKO via referee stoppage, due to accumulation of shots, is possible for either fighter. On the other hand, Adamek can pretty much knock anyone out.

It's not always about who punches the hardest, son. Guess Adamek didn't learn anything from the Dawson fight.

    This really is a pick´em fight.Maybe 51-49 in Cunningham´s favor.
    Alexeev would school them both!
