Froch is the champ you have to go take the belt from him.

What do we get gate wise in Vegas 5-6k average for a title fight

UK they are getting 20k plus, go where the dollars or pounds are!

If Taylor really wants to be a champ and is still hungry he should not care where the fight is held just that he's getting the shot!

If the fight was in Germany then I would be worried about the scorecards!

Ah if only life were like this eh ? :good

The thing is, American fighters surely arent scared to leave the US they've just been conditioned to think they dont have to anymore, PPV is proabably to blame in days gone by American fighters would travel but the era of Hopkins , Jones et al beating up however they choose on HBO has convinced US fighters they can stay at home. IMO however boxing is bigger in Europe than it is America right now.

I guess part of is also that US fans dont travel , its not like Taylor is going to take a crowd of maniacs wherever he goes ala Hatton.

Either way Jermian stop being a big blouse , find your passport jump on a plane and come face the champ.

( as David UK also pointed out If a european fighter goes to the states he goes up against an american ref and three american judges , maybe one form Puerto Rico or Mexico to give the impression of impartiality but thats it. That doesnt happen here ! )

Froch has to make two mandatory defenses because he won in an eliminator. Just like Adrian Diaconu. If Taylor wants to fight him, Froch doesn't have choice. It's up to Taylor. And stop telling Taylor ducked Froch or I'll sy Froch ducked Bute. :yepTaylor just needed a comeback fight and was assured to be the mandatory after he fought Lacy. So he can do both, Lacy and Froch. If he doesn't fight Froch, Bute or Kessler, now that will be ducking.

Froch/Pascal was in Froch's hometown of Nottingham (pop. 288,700) and did 7000 gate.

Taylor/Ouma, for example, was in Taylor's hometown of Little Rock (pop. 187,400) and did over 10,000 gate.

Taylor's got the bigger name and fights out of the country which most fighters want to come to. Carl has said he wants to fight in the U.S. He's smart enough to know it would be to his benefit to get broader global name recognition and the potential backing of a major US cable network.

EDIT: Also consider that if Froch doesn't take the fight on Taylor's terms, Taylor will find another big fight, meanwhile Froch's mandatory would become 18-0 Karo Murat of Germany who's never even smelled a top 20 opponent. That would be what we call a poor business choice on Froch's part.

Jermain Taylor: I want Froch's title

Responding to a news brief that was recently posted on ***********.com, promoter Lou DiBella reached out earlier today to set the record straight. A few days back, we posted some comments made by Mick Hennessy, promoter of unbeaten WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch. Hennessy went on the record with members of the UK press and told them that Taylor, the mandatory to Froch, was running away from his fighter by making a deal to challenge IBF champion Lucian Bute of Canada.
DiBella denies the statements made by Hennessy. Taylor has advised DiBella that he wants to fight Froch for the WBC title. Froch won the vacant title last Saturday after a gutsy performance against Jean Pascal in Nottingham. The twelve round contest was one of the best action fights of the year. DiBella watched the fight on a live internet feed, and he was very impressed with Froch.
“Contrary to what Mick Hennessey is saying, we are absolutely interested in fighting Carl Froch. If Froch is willing to come to North America, we are willing to make the fight. After watching Froch’s fight with Pascal, I will no longer say ‘who the Froch is Froch.’ I saw who he is and he’s a pretty damn good fighter. I think him and Jermain would make for a very good fight. Jermain told me that he wants the WBC title,” DiBella said.

i think froch should fly jus so the yanks hav no excuse wen froch takes him out in 6-8 rounds max froch fought in the usa an stopped henry porras in 9 rounds on a golden boy promotions show so dnt think he's a home comfort guy plus we all hav to go MSG' CEASERS PALACE OR MGM GRAND SUMTYM so might aswel start now

by the way Dstew the froch pascal was a 9000 gate by the way dnt try skim it to degrade carl's sellin power but i do agree it should be in america froch could get around 5000 fans over there i believe for that fight id go for it.

Every source I can find says 7000:
    http://www.usatoday.com/sports/boxing/2008-12-06-1627686878_x.htm
    http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-article/6415/froch-pascal-was-classic/
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/dec/08/boxing-froch

and so on, and so on...

If Froch could bring 5000 fans to the US that would be impressive. I think you're overestimating by a long shot though.

Pavlik/Abraham would be huge in Germany. It would also be huge anywhere in the mid west or in Atlantic City. The problem with a German venue is that Kelly would have to put AA on a stretcher in order to walk away with a majority draw:yep

Yep. In spite of what people think of P2K, I never get the impression he is lying. He pretty much explained things that happened to Miranda and had another poster backing up stuff on another fighter. I'm not sure if it is Germany or just Saurland.

He exercised his right to a rematch with Pavlik without a 'tune up' in between.

You have to have UK beside your name to think that. Froch is easier by far for Taylor. Of course, to understand, you have to know the other boxers, not only Froch's fights.

Taylor v Ouma was a homecoming defence after high profile fights against Hopkins twice and Wright. A better comparison would probably be Taylor v Joppy. How many attended that?

Froch also had a couple of million tv viewers. I wonder how that compares to the aggregate total of viewers for all Jermaine Taylor's world title fights?
